The 400p in the Skyliner series has a collapsible mount with easy release screw handles, but to be honest it's a real faff to set up! Mine's permanently bolted together and the mount's been squared off with judicious use of a bandsaw to decrease the foot print a little.

Is your car a two seater? If a four seater, I thought you would be able to put the 200p tube across the back seat and the mount in the passenger seat?

Mount in the passenger seat? Great idea, til I asked wifey if she'd cliimb into the boot!

Perhaps you could use your existing base as a template and reconstruct a new one out of birch plywood, but creating a slightly more slender profile.
