First Ha outing for some time with the coronado pst. Mosaics with this scope are a nightmare lol

Thanks Michael I did try a diy tilt adapter for the newton rings but it needed a Barlow to focus and the pesky rings still appeared. I believe the ASI174 does not have this issue which makes it even more attractive!

Nice detail. Shame about the rings.Do you use flats? Is that line at the bottom the join if the overlap big enough try the eraser tool on the edges of the images and restitch may rid of it.....maybe

A very nice image but I think the rings will make mosaics difficult, a flat would help

Nice. Better than most of my attempts! I've found that if you allow the solar disc to drift across the FOV, by adjusting the tracking rate or not tracking at all, you will lose the Newton's Rings. I've still never sorted out the gradient problems, though.

Thanks for your comments guys! I've not used flats but I can see that is something I need to try.

Luke my tracking does drift slightly but it does not seem to effect the rings.

Yes Craig the line near the bottom is the mosaic join which I've tried in vein previously to eliminate with a tiny overlap but the contrast is so different between the 2 panes which I believe is an issue with the Coronado's uneven optics?
