Other software than Stellerium?

Hi All!!

It appears that my laptop cannot run Stellerium due to a "Rubbish graphic chip" so i was wondering is there any other software out there??

I have the SkyX first edition that came with the new 'scope, seems ok, but is there any other free software out that should be considered?

Thanks

Martin

Give Cartes du Ciel (SkyCharts) a whirl. It is also freeware. And not to worry - it's in English:

And you can try Meade's AutoStar. It has a decent sky-charting / planetarium program. Look down and to the right for AutoStar Suite Version 5.5 and download it. Also free:

+1 for CdC.

It's not as visually appealing as Stellarium and there is a little bit of a learning curve to get it working the way you want it but it is very powerful and is regularly updated by the author.

Thank you for the replies

I've downloaded CdC and the meade programs and will check them out, but according to the weather forcasts i'm going to have a 4-5 hour window for some good viewing so with fingers crossed i'll actually be able the get the crimbo prezzie out and have a good "butchers" at the heavens

Once again thank you all

Martin.
