Waterproofing your handsets

Hi guys

Anyone have a solid way to stop condensation build up on the scope handsets? i was at six penny handley recently and the build up on the handsets was getting bad. Last year Mark lost a handset to it and my was doing some funny things till it dried out

Put it inside a plastic bag maybe?

I was going to suggest the use of conformal coating on the PCB but they tend to use conductive pads on the "rubber"  keys making contact with the tracks on the PCB.. and you wouldn't want to cover them up...

Seems to... The Meade autostar handest used to like begin kept a bit warm or they would almost "freeze" - run really slow -  so I used to use those chemical hand warmers attached to the back of it with rubber bands and put it inside a plastic bag and used to use another rubber band around the open end...

I have seen a latex rubber glove used,one of the nearly see through type and tied at the open end.

attaches to the back f the handset and keeps it (and your hand) warm and dry

the photograph is not the right size. it fits across the back of the handset with 2 elastic bands and is only 57mm wide

Either use a sealable freezer bag or wrap it in clearfilm iwth wire end particularly well wrapped.
