Quick question about Philips SPC900NC

Hi

I have a Philips SPC900NC webcam and want to know the recommended viewing/capturing software to use with it please?

I currently use one software (cant remember which one) but the actual viewing window is quite small so wondered if there is a newer recommendation out there?

I always used sharpcap, it's free and does the job plus you can change the size of the screen in the settings.

Either FireCapture or SharpCap should do the job.  I found SharpCap was easier for me when I started out.

The camera resolution is only 640x480 so most displays should manage that at full resolution quite happily.  Stick to at most 10fps otherwise the compression starts to throw a lot of data away.

ive used firecapture and sharpcap with my SPC900 and now my QHY5L-ii and i much prefer firecapture, both are good tho

Both sharpcap and firecapture work well. I also used wxAstrocapture, but prefered sharpcap, and later switched to firecapture. As they are free, you can just try which one suits your needs best

As per everyone else.

But fire up an instance of SharpCap before you go outside. It seems to have an unfortunate habit of finding an update just when you have things set to roll, or switch off your WiFi.

I have to be different, i use craterlet software, yet another freebie, seems pretty good and i have stuck with it

I've been  using wxAstrocapture as I've only just got started AP is this a good one or are any of the other said ones better ?

If you're happy with it then I'd stick with it unless you just want to see what else is out there to be honest.  I started off using wxAstroCapture on Linux and found it ok but a little restrictive, so I moved to SharpCap fairly quickly.
