I think they might have had a bit of an issue with the framing/FOV though, it looks slightly cropped.

I got a Flickr mail today saying it had been chosen and since it is from their Flickr stream I suspect others would have been notified in the same way...

Same here, I clicked for Stu's photo and saw that I had a flikr mail.

Normally, they would only get in touch up front if they are considering your image for television - in which case you have to respond asap, or you might miss the boat (as I did once... doh!).

Congrats guys, is a nice feeling. Iv had 2 on there now and one on the TV show, albeit being on screen for all of 0.7 seconds, it's still awesome :-) loved getting that email

Congrats guys... It's worth having any flickr mail's forwarded to another email account, so that you don't miss anything. I missed out on a competition short list (astro related, with an M45, it was top 10)  a couple of years ago, as I didn't sign into flickr for too long.
