Saturn first image

Hi all,

Here's my first ever image of Saturn, taken last night - the focus is slightly out due to quite a bit of wind however, i'm still pleased with my image. any feedback would be appreciated.

Congrats on your first Saturn image. I think there is more detail hidden in that shot. If you load it in Registax, first apply RGB alignment to counter atmospheric refraction (clearly visible in your image), and then play around with sharpening with wavelets. Can you give some details on how you took it? It is easier to give advice if we know how it was taken.

Canon 600d on SW200P with 2x barlow. Took a 2 min video then put it through PIPP and then registax. I'll give that a go thanks alot

Here you go Michael, I've managed to pull a bit more detail out, I got worried the image was getting a bit too grainy though.

Good start but starting to get a bit noisy on that last upload I think. Did you apply wavelets in R6 and de-noise? Also, how did you focus? Using a Bahtinov mask may have improved the focus.

Thanks alot guys. I'm going to attempt cutting a bahtinov mask - wish me luck XD I altered wavelets in all I think. I didn't denoise im still getting used to registax - im pretty useless with anything apart from gamma lol

Until the bahitov appears, try taking several runs and just barely tweak focus a tad on each run ... One of them might be perfect !
