Mars through Fog!

Early morning of March 13th, fog pretty thick not much else visible apart from the Moon, Mars and a handful of the brightest stars. I hoped for steady seeing to image Mars but still pretty 'wobbly'.

Best results were with just a 2x Barlow on a C11. My first go this opposition and pleased to be able to pick out a number of features. Hopefully still some improvements in the next few weeks.

Nice capture, Linton. I was attempting to image the Moon in the fog earlier in the evening, the fog must have been pretty heavy in the wee hours!

Hello Linton,

That's a very good capture especially through the fog, although it can improve the seeing if the transparency isn't too affected.  I hope that my 10"  OO Newt is getting lots of use
