Recommended Posts

Just a couple of shots from the last few nights. We've had bad weather for the last few weeks so it was nice to get out and produce something. Atleast it was bad when the moon was up.

Rho Ophiuchi and Antares

RGB 9x5min subs for each colour,

Atik 383L+ mono camera,

Baader 1.25in filters,

TS filter drawer,

Canon 200mm f2.8L lens @ f2.8 apart from blue done @f3.5 as the lens doesn't do blue so well wide open.

Stacked in DSS and processed in PixInsight.

Superb Rho Ophiuchi, like the dust there.

M20 came out also great; nice color.

Yeah i thought it came out ok for being taken from town. The baader LRGB filters do work well for a LP sky. Also having a mono camera and being able to focus for each colour with a camera lens makes a huge improvement to stars and detail.

These images are truly stunning on their own. And I must admit, at first, I didn't belive you when I saw the equipment used (and I mean that in a very respectful way).

It's really inspirational to see what can be achieved with modest equipment and skillful hands, great work!

I 2nd Toms opinion, some more color in Rho Oph and you'll have an image of highest class.

From what location did you shoot these?

Regards

Jonas
