Easy to say don't rush in, but equally I would say to go out and get something soon. You can put it off forever, but for that money you can get a decent set of binos or a second hand scope. If you get a bit of advice from a local club (nene valley astro are in E. Northants, near me, but there are many others around) you will not regret whatever you buy
