Should be fine Shane my 10" mirror looked like a herb garden when I brought it home. Took it to Galvoptics for a strip and recoat, it came out fine. Works just as good as any other 10" I've observed alongside.

The base could be a different matter of course caution would be prudent here, although building a new one probably would improve on any Meade effort

That's why I might have a comedy bid. if it's rough people might not fancy it especially if they have to travel far to collect it so there's always the chance of picking it up for not very much.

Hmmm - those GSO mirror coatings do seem to have a habit of not being very resilient. Storing in a damp shed won't have helped of course !
