Christmas Conjunction - Jupiter and the Moon

Recommended Posts

Another Conjunction shot, this looked absolutely fantastic even to the naked eye.

Anyway, something to do when the moon is this bright : )

This was taken on the Altair 80mm Triplet with a 2x Barlow and the Canon large-sensor 40D, Cropped mosaic of two frames.

This was about as close as they got (within 5 minutes or so).

And an individual frame with Jupiter and Luna about as close as they got.

And finally, given a close-in crop of the little-fella (well due to perspective :)) from the first frame

Thanks,

Thanks,

The detail was boosted by stacking a few shots for each panel and adjusting the brightness, but to be fair I was blown away by how much detail was in each individual shot.

I'm not a planetary person, but the seeing and transparency here seemed excellent last night.

This was a single frame when they were at their closest, it was lovely to watch this unfolding, I must look out for more conjunctions.
