The Perseid meteors take center stage this coming weekend, but before then, there are still great sights to see in this week's night sky. Cassiopeia carries some gem-like open clusters that you can easily find, such as NGC457 and NGC663. But beyond those, find where to spot a hypergiant star that is an incredibly distant naked eye object.

In the planetary department, Mars and Saturn are closing in on their closest approach in the evening and Jupiter and Venus still rule the morning skies - and don't miss the Moon, Jupiter, Aldebaran and the Hyades either! All that and more in this week's episode (like some Astronomy Theater with a quick mythology story about the Queen):
