NGC3372 Eta Cariae

Howdy,

There is many great images on this site, it is hard not to reply to all of them, it will take me a while to see them all.

Here is my second attempt at narrow band, a bit of a close up of the Eta Carinae/Keyhole Nebula in Carina, catalogue number NGC3372. I still have a long a way to go to get the processing right, but I was happy with the result.

I couldn't find any where in the ToS about posting links to outside, so here is a link to my PBase site where I am moving all my images to slowly. Details are with the image and you can click on original at the bottom of the page for a higher resolution image if you wish.

Any comments or processing advise welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Gray.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I'm glad you enjoyed viewing it.

Narrowband can give such a different perspective on an object and reveal detail and structure that is hard to define in LRGB, and the colours make it very eye catching.

That's a stunning image - I looked at the original size.

What can I say for constructive criticism?

I would have gone a bit lighter on the sharpening.

I like to see a bit of noise in the picture otherwise the target can look solid.

Perhaps I would have taken the saturation down slightly too -

but it's all subjective so well done!

I actually did a repro.

I agree with the noise and the sharpening, but I love colour and saturation.

Thanks, I appreciate the constructive feed back!
