Shapley 1 planetary in Norma

SPX350 F4.5, ATK-16HR, Baader RGB Astrodon Ha O3.

After 7 months of La Nina rain I am back imaging with 14 nights of clear wind free conditions in a row: quite exhausting.

This planetary I have always wanted to image as it is so perfect with a little halo brought out in o3. At mag 12.6 is was quite bright as I could see it in the low res preview. Has a central star of mag 14.1 in a lovely Milkyway field.

Thanks for looking, John.

Thanks everyone, I used 3hrs of O3 and 2hrs of Ha in 10min subs with a blend of RGB 30min each in 5min subs. Ha and O3 were combined in mapped colour using synthetic green and this was blended with the RGB for stars. Harlow Shapley discovered this in 1936.

John.
