Hi to all those looking up.

Although have always shown an interesting thing beyond the confines of Earths atmosphere:earth:, I'm very new to star gazing. I've had my head in a few books :), which my girlfriend has noticed and I guess that why she bought me a telescope as a Christmas present:icon_santa:. I've only had the chance to look at the moon so far, but I'm looking forward to looking at some of the other planets. Any tips on how to do this quickly would be great.

I live half in Maidstone Kent half in Bromley at the moment, so light pollution can be a problem.

I have be given a TA1100-102 telescope from Jessops, which seems easy to use.

This telescope came with 6mm, 12.5mm and 20mm eyepieces and a moon filter:glasses2:.
