SPX350 F35.2, PGRFlea3, Astrodon RGB IR742nm filters.

Finally with an image after windy cloudy weather ruined Jupiters apparition. Mars gets to 55deg alt here in Brisbane. Seeing was variable at 6/10 but good detail with the IR filter and had a go at Saturn in the twilight.

Mars - IR IR RGB with Red and IR images - 1705hrs UT.

Saturn - R RGB - 1750hrs UT.

Thanks, John.

Not too bad considering the conditions John, the Mars is quite nice imho.....the weather's closed in down here in South Oz but the windy conditions you speak of sabotaged any seeing opportunities in the preceding days: it's often those first few hundred metres skyward that put a clamp on imaging imo, forgetting completely about trying to keep the image on the chip..!:)

Thanks for the comments, its a shame Mars is so tiny. I got a good Airy disc with centre dot occassionally so thought this would be good but had to wait an hour for cloud to move, will have to show the Airy disc stacked next time after collimating on a star. Mars kept ringing somewhat but some sharp images. Each channel was 100secs and gain was 2200 out of 3300 with the Flea3 all in 8bit.

With Saturn blue and green ruined the final image but IR looks not too bad.

Thanks, John.
