BST Exp / Vixen NPL

Hello again SGL, A bit of advice regarding a couple of eyepieces. I have been researching a couple of EP'S for medium power work and have settled on either an 18mm BST Explorer or a 20mm Vixen NPL. Going on many reviews they both seem excellent, but I am sure there are pro's & cons for both. I am not expecting high end quality, I just want to add an ep in the 15-20mm bracket. Also the scope they will mainly be used with will be a Skyliner 200p Dob. Many thanks in advance for any input.

i have a 8mm bst from alun at skys the limit very good indeed but thats at f10, dont no what it will be like in yours

I have 3 Vixen NPL ep's and they are superb. I have an 8mm,15mm and a 30mm.

I also have a Vixen 25mm NLV.

Affordable and brilliant.

The NLV was second hand.................

Totally worth the money.

You'd be happy with either. The BST gives a wider view but the NPL is a bit sharper at the edges.

Thats great guys thanks for that, very helpful as always. I will probably try the Vixen first. Sounds to me like they are both keepers.

give us a review once you have one. comes in helpful to others who are looking at the same eyepiece's. im deciding on the same two makes.

i wouldn't get both - they won't both get used. i have the 18mm bst and used to have a 200p dob, and i liked it. a really useful size/magnification.
