Hi Rosty, welcome to SGL

May be something like these

I think the Infinity 76 will be best for an 8 year old kid. However, if you want to get him a scope which he can grow into in his teens, the 130p will be better.

I think you should have a read of the first few paragraphs in the CN article. It sums up the all the key points when one buy the first telescope for a kid.

hi and welcome from me and whats your budget ,and how well do you want to see things avoid the high street at all cost argos ect try clik in FLOs header at the top of any page here on sgl,and that should give you some idea of prices ect
