Sunspots - equipment comparison.

This afternoon I had the oportunity to try different ways of imaging the same thing. The sunspots and solar disc with two main pieces of kit.

First up, ED80 plus Baader film. I had to add a Ha filter to darken it sufficiently so that the 16HR could cope.

Same kit plus a 4X imagemate to increase the scale.

Next, the PST with 4X imagemate zoomed in on the sunspot.

Finally the PST with just a Barlow lens element to allow focus to be reached.
