It did this a few weeks ago for ages. Only after a fair bit of moaning did it get sorted out. Sit tight, theyre probably on the case.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was just me as my connection has been a bit rough today but it seems fixed now.

It looks the business, not sure if it will get a first light tonight though, too many b'day drinks. Then again.... maybe after the football.

Actually it may be a bit better here now, not sure if I can muster up the strength though.

I think he uses The Force. Either that, or he's on a secret Moon base :) Good luck if you go for it this afternoon, I might try 20 minutes on the Moon later if it clears, I just can't face these fast moving clouds again for solar imaging!! :-o

Think I'm going to pass now, I have be meaning to catch the Moon since my successful test with the DMK the other night but conditions have been poor since.

  8. Is it worth using an OIII filter when imaging the moon?

  9. Webcam raring to go, unbelieveable. It's the first time in nearly 2 years I have used it. Now, I wonder if I can remember what I'm doing

  10. No sun for two days and I start thinking about how to make a circular roll off roof for an obs.

  11. Hope this wind dies down, beautiful day but too windy for the scope to go out.

It gets pretty windy round here at times. Destroys anything not tied down. Not so much rain though.

There's also a vicious wind up this end, but surprisingly it isn't in action today. I don't mind the clouds, rain but I hate the wind. I seriously take it quite personally :-)

I'm starting to feel that way too, the poor old 150PL is wobbling away like crazy.

  12. ooh, got a belated Christmas present. Some ND3.8 solar photo film, a new lenspen and a star dial kit. Yippee.

  13. I'm in Lunar stacking hell. Both Regi's didn't work and Avistack is taking hours.

    1. JB80

      JB80

It says there is 35 hours left, that can't be right.

  14. Huge lunar halo atm, too big to even photograph.

  15. Insert generic weather complaint here.

  16. Any thoughts on the Starwave 70ED? Anybody have one?

Probably your best bet is the Equinox 66mm..

      JB80

That's the thing, I was originally thinking a Borg 50, then got caught up with the Starwave and now I have found a nice little Baader 66.

I get sidetracked too easily. :D

  17. Found enough solar film hidden away for a nearly full aperture filter. Time for some dodgy DIY.

  18. is a couple of hours long enough to visit the Royal Observatory or should we wait until tomorrow and go in the morning to gi e us more time?

  19. 1st contact of eclipse in 3 minutes.

  20. I should really trobleshoot some solar imaging in time for tomorrows eclipse, might just enjoy the day instead.

Just checked, the forecast looks good, 26°c and sunny and I should have both white light and a Ha scope plus a little solar projector. Fingers crossed.

  21. 2 flat dslr batteries, I only have 2. :( Silly oversight but at least Orion may be up by the time one is charged.

  22. Where is the comet setting in DSS?
