  1. Looking clear for tonight, maybe some before and after shots of the prenumberal eclipse. It's not expected to be much more than some slight dimming.

  2. Any astro events in London in November?

Well I'm not even sure I'll be going but something has come up and we might be in London for a weekend in November. Would of been nice if there was an astro fair or something.

Exactly, thought I was in the clear for a while. Maybe I can get a replacement bit otherwise I'll get an upgrade for x-mas. Hopefully I can get away with my back up for use with the Polarie.

  4. internet is soooo slow, stupid satellite. Maybe I should do something constructive then.

I cracked and have Classic Shell now, it helps but I still don't like where it puts my uploaded pictures off the sd card.

I think you probably need a family standard machine. They're powerful enough these days and can do all you want if you're not planning on running software like 3D Max, Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time :)

Yeah, nothing too fancy. I figure either equal to or more than the current specs I have which is 6GB or ram and two 750 HDs, although I may have to not go 1.5TB

  8. First solar session for a long time, feels good!

  9. Last 24 hours in Belgium. It feels weird.

Hah, that's reassuring. I think it was a bad couple of days I was having waiting on moving companies that should have settled their dates weeks ago. As it is we leave in 10 days but have no idea what day our stuff will arrive.

  11. grrr....geography.

My wife will be working in Alicante so to start with somewhere 10-20 minutess away, maybe near Elche or El Campello. We have a heap of places to see so far, we don't really want to be in the middle of a city, once we have settled we will look to move a bit further out.

Lovely, maybe if funds are good an apartment with garden might be found, but I'd seriously not worry about that. If you've a car, you've got some amazing dark sites and natural parks dotted all over the place.

We are looking at villas with either a big yard or nice view but it's hard to tell until we actually see them in person. In July when we move proper we will have the car with us so as you say I think some trips may be in order.

  15. Thinking of a new laptop, not sure which one but it has to be powerful enough to run an astro setup.

  16. Think I have found a bargain but have to wait to see if it is still available.

  17. Adieu Belgium, Hola Alicante! :)

I'm nearly certain it's a construction site but I need to check out exactly where though, odd seeing as they are not allowed to work at night.

It is a joke, it's bad enough here as is, normally the sky is orange so I was surprised to see the blue cast.

      chrisfellows

It really is a joke! I live in Birmingham but in my garden the LP isn't so bad as I'm facing away from the city center but I guess there will be no escaping the LP soon. Saying that....I've read that these new LED street lamps they're installing will reduce LP by around 25%....lets hope they HURRY UP!

Well I located where it is coming from I think but couldn't find a company name on the outside of the place, I'll give them a week and then report them to whoever I have to.
