    Hi and welcome to SGL. I'm no expert still a newb but my dob gets alot of dew on the finder, secondary mirror, and ep's, dew heaters and dew shield might help.im sure someone with more experience will come along and help

    I can't travel my dob is too big and heavy for me to get in my car. And there's a dark site 40 minutes away, I'm observe from my garden bortle 3 ,a few trees facing south or should I say forest but if I wheel my dob 5 minutes up the road I have this.

    Sorry to jump in on your thread. What about a dew strip for a finder scope, the back and front dew up do I need to put one both ends or would one just be enough for the whole finder

    It's the secondary mirror im having the most problem with, suffer with alot of dew from where I am .when I'm observing everything looks fine, then the stars don't look sharp and harder to get in focus so I was thinking collinmation was out but when I looked through the focuser the secondary mirror is covered with dew. End of a good clear dark night😪

    Hi all. I want to make a dew shield for my 12"dob, I looked up early posts and a foam camping mat was mentioned. 1) Would this stop dew on my secondary mirror 2) How long would I need to make it 3) Is a foam camping mat a good idea (going to work). Thanks Dave

    I keep my dob in a wooden shed so it's easy to get outside and cool down quickly. I brought some covers from amazon haven't arrived yet but lm sure it would help keep the spiders out
