  1. Good to see you capturing again Charl.

  3. First you need to turn off the GPS setup - telescope - gps - the menus are "on" "off" and then you can input the data manually. Having to do the same with my Celestron until I do the update.
  4. The original WL and a prom from the same session
  5. Thanks Dave. I don’t remember seeing a direct side by side comparison of the same spot at the same time so thought it would be a bit different. Looks a bit strange though!
  6. Took these shots on 15th and decided it would be interesting to compare the WL and Ha side by side. The WL has had a major down sizing to get it to the same scale as the Ha. The shots were ~30 mins apart.
  7. Captured these yesterday afternoon. Will go out again later today to see what's changed in the last 24 hours. A couple of images stitched together showing both AR2741 and what is left of AR2740
  8. Good to see you out again Charl, hopefully this is getting back up to a decent count for this year so far.
  9. Thanks Pete. WL at this focal length isn’t the easiest thing so was happy enough with how this came out.
  10. Captured this on Friday morning at ~9am. Fire Capture, stacked in AS!3 and processed in Imppg and PS. I also have some AVIs of AR2740 so will see what I can pull out of those.
  11. You managed to pull something decent out Dave given the conditions. Don’t forget this is just a quality graph of the frames in that particular AVI relative to each other and is not a guide of absolute quality.
  12. Yes, a green filter will help
  13. I agree, as said, I think there is a bit of over or under stating of capacity going on and I don’t think Ioptron are doing themselves any favours with the figures they are stating for their CEM mounts.
  14. Unfortunately Altair are wrong!!! I got the same info. from them but have just checked with the manufacturer who have confirmed that 27kg is the total payload so imaging would be about 2/3, which puts it slightly below the eq6R. To be honest, I would say that SW are over stating or Ioptron are understating payload as all reviews and feedback would indicate that the CEM60 is the better mount.
  15. We are in the same ball park, I took imaging as being 1/2 to 2/3 of total, so payload is roughly the same/ a bit lower for the CEM but most people talk of the CEM as being a definite improvement over the eq6r. I guess there is more to it than just payload but I would have thought it would only be a marginal improvement.
  16. This has been a very interesting thread. The one thing I do find odd though is that the claimed max imaging load for the eq6R is greater than that claimed for the CEM60.
  17. Sorry, no idea. I have stuck with Artemis as I couldn’t see any advantages for me with Dusk so have stuck with what I know best. To be honest, I got the feeling that they were testing and changing it but then just got to the point where they had hit the date they wanted to release it so just stopped and released it!!
  18. Now fully released on their website.
  19. Nothing new to report as there has not been a new beta since 0.0.0.9. They have been working on the Mac version which is taking some time but a new Windows beta is expected soon with a possible release in late Feb.
  20. This is to replace Artemis capture so when released they will have Dawn and Dusk.
  21. Dusk beta 0.0.0.9 came through today for more testing. Not had a chance to look at it yet and looking at the forecast it will only be looked at, for the foreseeable future, in front of the tv rather than under the stars !!!!
  22. Updated version received on Friday for further beta testing. Improvements made to focusing and capture/download information. Just need some better weather to get it out under the stars.
  23. My first image captured with Dusk. All of 20 mins (4x5sec subs) before the clouds stopped play.
  24. Recently got my link to Atik’s new capture software Dusk to start beta testing. It has a completely new look but lots of familiar functions and a few new things. Only had a quick try with it last night so hopefully the weather will clear long enough for me to get a good go with it under real conditions rather than in front of the tv !!!
