  1. This list has been around for some time. I find that he likes the FS-128 to have similar performance to the TSA-120 interesting, however ranks the TOA-130/TMB 130 above them and the AP130EDFGT 133mm F6.3. Surprising to see where the C11 is in the list, he has a hand picked version. Given his reference is a u300 no u210 on the list to compare with. The list is below: 101 point) Takahashi Mewlon-300 (96 point) ASTRO-PHYSICS 160EDF * (95 point) Takahashi TOA-150 * (95 point) Takahashi Mewlon-250 (93 point) ASTRO-PHYSICS 155EDFS (90 point) INTES-MICRO ALTER A-608 (90 point) ZEN250 (88 point) CELESTRON C-11 (88 point) Takahashi FS-152 (88 point) INTES-MICRO ALTER-7N * (86 point) AOK K150/3000 Zerodur * (86 point) Orion 250cmF6.3 * (85 point) Takahashi TOA-130F * (84 point) TMB 130mm/F9.25-LW * (84 point) TEC-140 * (83 point) ASTOROSIB 250RC (76 point) AP 130EDFGT 130mmF6.3 (75 point) TeleVue NP127 * (75 point) INTES MN-61 * (74 point) Takahashi Mewlon-180 * (72 point) William Optics FLT132 (72 point) Takahashi FS-128 (72 point) Takahashi CN212 (70 point) TMB 115mm/F7 LW * (70 point) PENTAX 125SDP (70 point) CELESTRON C8 (70 point) Kasai NERIUS-127EDT * (69 point) BORG150ED (68 point) William Optics10cmF8 * (67 point) TeleVue NP101 * (67 point) Takahashi TSA-102 * (66 point) Zeiss APQ100/640 (66 point) TAKAHASH FSQ-106ED * (66 point) William Optics FLT110 (64 point) TeleVue TV101 (63 point) TeleVue TV102 (63 point) Takahashi FS-102 * (61 point) TeleVue SDF (61 point) PENTAX 105SDP (61 point) KASAI SCHWARZ150(F8) * (60 point) Vixen VMC200 * (59 point) KASAI NERIUS-150LD * (58 point) Takahashi FSQ-85ED * (56 point) Takahashi Sky90 Following 18 scopes are loaner. 2. I wonder how competitive it would be with a FSQ-85 when being used with NV. I think the FSQ-85 F5.5 versus F6 would give better results when used in low SQM area for HA nebula, however where not so much gain needs to be deployed maybe a lot closer. But given the price good compromise for a lot of people...
  3. I have 18.5 mm LE and 24 mm UFF for BV viewing, thinking of getting some 12.5 mm LE's or 10 mm UFF's. I suspect for planetary viewing BV will be more beneficial, similar route to you.
  4. Not posted in here for a while however a Baader 2.6 GPC turned up from Germany and the packaging made me smile: Apologies if I got the last one and you have to wait months for another GPC to turn up. I'm waiting on other Baader equipment so I know how it feels...
  5. Denis in Croatia made some BV's that did not require the use of a GPC, BillP did a review of them. A bit more flexibility with which EP's you could use. I've just got a GPC 2.6 turn up, tempted to get some 10 mm UFF's for them, as low as I can go I suspect on a random good nights seeing.
  6. Nice post on NV. Looks amazing and you have not bought a high end APO. Ps: I only found this post due to a message, safely buried in the EEVA section where no one will find it…
  7. Does the Tripod-Pier attach to any EQ-6 mount?
  8. I think the Baader might be the best option as it has the cut out and the ADM does not. I'd like to be able to swap out mounts, say put a ScopeTech Zero in place. Maybe Derek has an offering???
  9. Also thinking a pillar is required as well. I might find out how much the ADM option is, however I'd like it to be similar to the Vixen/Baader half-pillar with the side cut out..
  10. I've repeated over numerous nights and at different times, but get the same result the mirror diagonal is better on Jupiter and Saturn on the LZOS, I suspect a different answer on my 100 mm doublet... By better the Vixen HR will show belt detail on Jupiter with the mirror diagonal but not with the prism diagonal. PS. I know some else who is waiting 60-90 days for the next TOE 4 mm to come into stock....
  11. I didn’t manage to get out on Monday night but it did look good outside. Great report. Which diagonal did you use with the TOE and HR EP’s? I’m seeing more with a more detail on planets with a mirror diagonal over a prism. I suspect the LZOS is well figured enough it does not need any correction that the prism is providing.
  12. I could argue a Christmas present then??? 😀
  13. I bought my scope with this in mind, it has a large in-focus range to be BV friendly. Good to point out. Unfortunately Denis BV's are no longer being produced, no need for any GPC's with these...
  14. I've got the Max Bright II. I asked people on CN the difference between WO, Mark V and Max Bright II, which is where the quote came from. If fact if you e-mail Bill he would give you a good steer between the two. See his review: https://www.cloudynights.com/articles/cat/user-reviews/field-test-of-the-baader-maxbright®-ii-binoviewer-r3238 If you e-mail Bill he always gets back quite quickly with a view. The Mark V are meant to be great, however the cost difference and whether you would see the difference was a constant come back with the owners of both.
  15. The clear aperture is the thing, which limits what EP's you can use. As far as quality the Max Bright II and Mark 5, the main difference is the clear aperture but both are a step up from the WO BV's. However try buying either new or on the second hand market....
  16. BBHS mirror diagonal, the TSA-102 scope is well figured so the prism will over correct the scope.
  17. I've already had that wallet hit 😄. I'm awaiting a 2.6 GPC to be delivered but UPS has trouble with new address...
  18. @Highburymark Did you get a 3.3 mm TOE, how does it compare with you other EP's? Is my wallet going to regret asking???
  19. I'd be interested to know how long it would take for the C11 too cool down to get a comparable image of Jupiter or Saturn? Also does the C11 and the DZ balance out when mounted side by side on the AZ100?
  20. Interesting CN thread on aperture, magnification and exit pupil, https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/742068-aperture-magnification-exit-pupil/ As you can see, fixing magnification x200 and changing apertures affect on what you can see: Here is what happens when you hold Exit pupil constant while decreasing aperture. The paradox is for an extended object no telescope will show an object with greater surface brightness than the naked eye, but we still like using a scope on it....
  21. I suspect you will be close the edge with that scope, given the length of the tube. My guess would be it would work given how Vixen are conservative with capacity. The 140 is a great scope, quite an active thread on CN on 152 flavour, you might get an answer there as 140 owners post there too. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/599193-apm-152-ed-apo-club/?hl=apm 150
  22. Yes, best colour correction and the the TOA can be used with a full frame as well make's it a great imaging scope. Fastar on the Edge will speed up the scope, however it also has its own limitations, such as blue star bloat. All machines have plus/negatives. Not that I'm an expert on imaging scopes.
  23. Well I going to cause trouble and say the colour from the 130-TOA is just amazing compared with Edge. But you would expect that from possibly one of the best colour corrected scopes ever made for the amateur market.
