  1. looking at that i cannot find a driver the neq6 mount for eq mod, but i did see its supported by eq mod so i dont need a driver as its already built into eqmod?
  2. thank you for replying i found this on ascom site https://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/ScopeDrivers.htm but the only thing i see on there is Sky-Watcher SynScan Physical Hand Controller and SynScan App (separate drivers) is this the correct one? as im doing away with the hand controller i just read phsical hand controller i though that didnt seem right, i may be wrong
  3. ive just bought a new laptop and in the process of downloading drivers and software, so ive decided to do away with the handset and ordered a eq direct cable for my mount(Neq6) ive downloaded the latest version of NINA and ascom platform and also eq mod, astap and its star database for platesolving in nina, drivers for my asi camera and orion starshoot autoguider. is there anything else i need to let NINA control the mount? ive read i need to install ascom driver for eqmod for my for my skywatcher mount but i cannot for the life of me find it(heat has melted my brain) but on the other hand ive also read that nina has the mount driver built into it? confused.com also does NINA need planetarium software like stellarium? new to this way of controlling the mount so sorry for all the questions ive used my handset for years
  4. After doing a bit of research I found I needed eqmod, so I’ve installed that and got Nina to recognise it, also phd2, set up the camera pixel size telescope info etc, but Carnt find anything about if Nina needs stellarium or any other planetarium software to run the mount?
  5. Ok the cable I’m looking at is this https://www.firstlightoptics.com/sky-watcher-mount-accessories/lynx-astro-ftdi-eqdir-usb-adapter-for-sky-watcher-eq6-or-neq6-syntrek-pro-mounts.html i have the neq6 thanks for replying, not sure if you would know this but does Nina need eq mod to slew and plate solve etc?
  6. I’m wanting to upgrade to using Nina to plate solve etc after using handset on my neq6 for years, it’s time I got with the times! Can I plug the eq direct cable into my usb3 powered hub attached to my scope that the camera is plugged into or does it have to go to the lappy into a different USB port? I’m in the process of downloading Nina and the relevant star database to platesolve and also eq mod, is eq mod needed with Nina? Sorry so many questions as this sort of thing is new to me after using handset so so long
  7. Ok thanks for your reply, I shall start looking for a decent monitor to add for my processing
  8. Hello everyone I’ve got a acer aspire 5 with decent specs eg, i7 8gb ram etc but the thing that lets it down is it’s screen especially for processing in photoshop as I’ve read it only shows around 60% of sRGB so is it possible to hook a monitor to the laptop that shows over 90% of sRGB to help with processing images giving me better colour control? Or would the laptop just show the same through the added monitor even though the monitor would have better specs?
  9. Just tried it on the scope and can confirm it works, sits square and no problems with the compression ring sitting half in and half out the grove so upto now it’s problem solved
  10. Right I’ve thought of something I can try, I have made a spacer out of plastic from a old PlayStation game case that is 1.5mm thick that fits over the coma corrector and sits against the ring with the badder writing on it, that should put the brass compression ring on the focuser fully inside that stupid grove on the mpcc, will post back once I’ve tried it on the scope
  11. Ok so in place of the standard m54 fitting on the focuser of my 130pds I’ve put a compression ring there instead but using the baader mpcc mk3 it seems the brass ring doesn’t sit in the grove of the coma corrector it sits sort of partly in the grove and partly on the shoulder causing the camera to be loose and wonky, is there a way around this? It’s no problem with the skywatcher coma corrector but I’ve switched to the baader so I can use the scopes native focal length and f ratio, I’ve looked a a baader click lock instead but as it’s 30mm thick I’m not sure I would reach focus(inwards) any help would be appreciated
  12. Thanks for your reply, I take it you mean the explore scientific coma corrector?the focuser I have already changed as I bought a moonlite for my Quattro so the stock focuser on that went on the 130pds, it’s a much beefier focuser than the 130s stock. very nice image by the way, is the baader corrector the left of the image? I’ve got a 50/50 chance of getting it right 😁
  13. I’m looking at upgrading the standard skywatcher coma corrector for the said scope, I’ve been looking at ts optics max feild x0.95 coma corrector, has anyone got this corrector and does it perform any better than the standard skywatcher? Any info would be gladly received
  14. That’s a belter that really very nice
  15. That’s beautiful Luke, smooth as silk and colour is excellent you would never know it was from osc
  16. That’s super, imagine if these were the size of M101 they would be spectacular, tight dust lanes and tons of details
  17. Good job, not an easy target this, the outer parts are really faint but you have them Showing
  18. Probably my favourite galaxy is m63, and blimey there’s loads of small tiny galaxys in the background that are fascinating and mind boggling at the same time, as just how far away they are and we’re able to capture them with our equipment
  19. Im normally a galaxy fan myself but the cave nebula is one of my favourites, it looks amazing in rgb colour too when deep enough, this is a lovely image and your stars are nice and small and tight
  20. That’s excellent from a bortle7 sky, just shows you with enough time what can be achieved
  21. Impressive, something I will look at, will have to make mine by hand, would it affect the f ratio of a newt?
  22. Yes a big difference in the stars from the mask, lovely image, can you elaborate on the aperture mask I wouldn’t mind making one for my Quattro 10cf during summer ready for autumn
  23. This is an image from the internet of a f5 correctly collimated, note the secondary edge, the third green circle inwards is round
  24. The offset is I believe how it looks as in the spider doesn’t look central and is offset slightly against the crosshairs of a Cheshire , the secondary should still look round, my own f4 scope which is faster is round when set using the concenter, maybe I’m wrong
