Can’t remember who but one of our lady members did a mod on one of those tripods and she had a bit of difficulty removing that part. Hopefully she may spot your post or maybe you could do a search in the DIY section. Good luck. -

Hi and welcome to SGL. My first scope was an 8” Dob which I still have and use whenever skies permit. I f you want to stand when viewing then you could use a water butt base to raise the height or alternatively use a seat for more comfortable viewing. I once had a 127 Mak but I sold it because it was too prone to dew problems which has never been a problem with the Dob. -

Sorry I am unable to give an opinion as I fortunately don’t need to wear glasses for viewing. The particular eyepiece I am referring to is the one with the red band around the barrel

I am not an expert by any means but in my 8” Dob an ST 120 it gives very clear images IMO

I have an SVBony 20 mm 68 degree eyepiece which was included with a scope I bought and it is one of my favourites, it is very sharp and I could not fault it.

Hi and welcome to SGL, as long as you have access to a reasonable area of sky you shouldn’t have any problem. Sometimes people forget take the lens cap off the camera.

I was browsing this topic and noticed the focuser is not the standard type and could not see how you adjust the focuser. Out of interest could anyone enlighten me please. -
I am sure it is the satisfaction you get when you achieve great images, but I don’t think my efforts would be anywhere near the quality our members get so I content myself looking at others achievements.

I once had an AZ4 Mount and as far as I can remember it has a flat surface.

The AZ4 has a 3/8” thread and most photographic threads are 1/4”. There are plenty of 3/8” female to 1/4” male adapters available so you should be able to locate one easily enough.
