  1. Haven't had a chance to capture any this year due to clouds of the bad variety, here are some Noctilucent Clouds over Sunderland back in June 2019 Edit..... Just noticed that the rules state that the image must have been captured during the challenge dates so please disregard this image
  2. Wow that really is lovey, you've got to love Cygnus
  3. Nicely done. I always find focusing the nifty 50 a challenge but you've nailed it
  4. Wow, great work mate, lovely image
  5. Thanks, yeah the whole FOV is pretty mind blowing really
  6. 135 x 2 minute subs, with darks, flats and dark flats / SW 72ED / ZWO ASI 294MC Pro / HEQ5 Pro / UV/IR Cut Taken from my bortle 8 garden last week over a couple of nights
  7. Very very nice mate, mono is definitely working for you
  8. Doesn't sound too bad. I haven't tried APP yet but I have been tempted to download the trial version and see how I get on
  9. Nice one, looks great. How does it deal with the different image scales/sizes or does it just resize as part of the stacking process?
  10. There's always something 😆 Thank you, yeah possibly if you squint hard enough I think I'd need double the data at least from my bortle 8 zone to bring out the tail so it's prominent. Good plan, now I have my dedicated astro camera it'll make it easier to add data every year to previously shot targets. Good luck with adding more to yours
  11. Ah nightmare, hopefully you'll get another chance this week as the forecast doesn't look too bad
  12. First light for my new 294MC Pro and first time using a cooled CMOS camera. The transition from DSLR was pretty painless to be honest with the exception of shooting various combinations of flats to actually get them to work (a quirk of the 294). Overall I'm pretty happy with how it has turned out considering the modest focal length. I can say it's a joy to process images from a cooled camera as the decrease in noise is immediately evident over a dslr I do need to sort my spacing out as the stars are a little funky in the corners. 126 x 180 second light frames (~6.3 hours), 30 darks, 20 flats and 20 dark flats from my Bortle 8 garden ZWO ASI 294MC Pro / Evostar ED72 / HEQ5 Pro / UV/IR Cut Image capture in APT, stacked in DSS and processed in Ps.
  13. Nicely done, it's great to see your images progress over the years
  14. Is that a single image or a stack? The line to the left looks like what you get when the framing of several exposures is not quite the same after stacking. As for the other issue, I can't see any walking noise. If you are referring to the horizontal lines across the entire image is looks like banding that is pretty common with canon dslrs.
  15. I bet, got to maximise the clear nights we occasionally get. Looks great 👍
  16. I'd say so, I'm currently imaging this myself and have around 4 hours in the bag but I'm struggling to bring out the colour (particularly the blue in M66) with my OSC camera. Forecast looks promising for tonight so hopefully I can add more data
  17. Nicely done, great colours 👍
  18. I have a Sigma 150mm F2.8 Macro lens and I've used it for astro a few times and it gives acceptable results, one thing to note is that it's very sensitive to focus and can be susceptible to coma if the focus isn't bang on. I'm not sure where you read that you can't change the aperture manually but you can, it's just like any other lens I took this using it:
  19. Very nicely done, colours are superb
  20. That's lovely mate, great work
