Hi all, thanks for all the comments re: Obsey damage from thieves. Trying to not think about it by doing some solar imaging. Lunt 60mm DS and Zwo Asi 178mm. False colour added in photoshop. Other software used were Autostakker3 and ImPPG. When I first set up there was a lovely Sunbow while I waited for the clouds to pass.

Yeah, have to wait and see. Other people are in the property now but said I could leave the dome there so I cancelled my insurance policy as all the telescope equipment was removed so can't go down that road, but thanks for the thought. All my building's and contents insurance plus telescope stuff are insured at my new address now. Didn't think someone would try and remove the dome part to be honest. Once it's all back here repaired and in place I'll definitely be making sure no one can lift it off again.

Thanks all and Astro-geek, appreciate all your comments and advice, plus what to do to them if they get caught, lol. I expect they had no clue but wondered how they knew to lift the dome part and not try the door area, me thinks they must have some sort of knowledge about dome. My dome was tied down inside too so it must have been some effort.

Thanks Olly, just upsetting, when you work hard and save for things but you're right, they'll never know true happiness or fulfillment. They just exist on a certain level of humanity.

No, unfortunately not. Yeah, deffinetly bar stewards Apparently the dome part was so precarious my old neighbors lifted it all off onto the garden to stop more damage. Just glad I emptied the dome of equipment.

Hi all, some sad news. I moved house in November but left my dome where I lived till I could sort out moving this. Covid-19 put a delay on this too. Planned to move that in April so didn't happen. We'll my neighbor informed me that the dome was attempted to be lifted by thieves and there is damage to the dome fiberglass. Don't know to what extent,going now to collect it on Wednesday. Hopefully it isn't to bad. Any advice about repair of fiberglass would be nice.

Thanks Mark, much appreciated. Taken about 6 month's to fine tune my skills of using the Lunt, software and solar processing skills. All different from night time imaging and telescope's.

I was the same when wanting to take the plunge into solar observing and imaging. After research I bought a second hand Lunt 60mm, later added a double stack. Very satisfied with the Lunt and a great scope. I also think a CAK Lunt filter would be a good starting point instead of a quark. Just my take on things.

Had one back in the 70's with a fullerscops 10inch newtononian. The memories, lol.

No probs, brilliant. You have to disable the Lucy deconvolution by clicking on the box and then adjust sigma, not much, then I increase the max slider,dont normally touch much else, don't overdo the sharpening, forget the name of that as I'm not at my computer.

Hi, yes, just follow the histograms highs and lows (apart from the very right hand side of the histogram, leave that as is) and then slightly adjust at each point.
