  1. Thank you friend! Yes, the GRS seems to be smaller each year past. Now the size is about only some earths! 🤣 But we're happy because It is still very interesting in every shapes, movements and all alive activity! Let's see what it brings to us in the next opposition!

  4. Hi @Kokatha man! Thank you for sharing your point of view! It sure is valuable to me. I really agree with you that it's no simple task to detect any detail on the farther gaseous planets. I didnt think that was likely to happen. But just because it's hardware doesn't mean it's impossible, doesn't It? 😀 What most intrigued me was the comparison i made with images from other aps and the details are still similar. Would different scopes, cameras and sampling result a noise in images producing similar details? I'm thinking about this 🤔 Of course the layers were well stretched post processing to highlight the stains. They reached brighter, but it is a signal that belongs to the original image. Uranus and Neptune are not so famous targets between amateurs (as Jupiter and Saturn) and there is certainly much to be discovered yet. What is the real capacity of our setup today? Until recently we did not believe it would be possible to capture the Uranus ring, but now we know it's possible. I will try to make some GIF to certificate the rotation of the details along with the planet (just like Niall has already made). It will not be an easy task, but we can try. If the they keep freeze or unatural movement, it's only noise. Let's wait for some Hubble image during the opposition. This can solve some of our questions. Anyway, i liked your points. Thank you!   5. Hi all, This is my third Uranus capture this season. I am much happier with this result. The seeing helped a lot and the sky quality was favorable. This image is the result of 5 de-rotated videos on Winjupos, all captured with IR742 filter. The result was used as luminance in the composition. RGB came from a normal color capture. Following the images of other friends, we can notice the atmospheric activity on the planet. It seems to be changing every week. Many changes can still happen until the opposition. Lucas Magalhaes
  6. Congrats Steve! Very good begining!! James is right about the difficult to set a good exposure for a moon mosaic. It's a huge target with so many different brightness areas. The way to avoid over exposure is set gain and exposure time in the brightest surface point. But you really got a great image
  7. Hi Simon. I dont know the target you captured, so I will use the moon as an example. Ideally, you stack the images before making the mosaic. A good reason is that AutoStakkert alignment points will use the algorithm to determine frames quality and position to produce a good final image. If you try to build the mosaic first, these alignment points will not work well and even the quality graphic can produce a false result. Stack each video first, then build the mosaic. Finally make adjustments to brightness, contrast, sharpness ... using your favorite software. A good one for mosaics is the Microsoft ICE. It's free and very easy to use. Worth it. Lucas

  10. Thanks Craig. Terminator is where we usually find some interesting crater shadows, even in a nearly full moon. It worths while! 😉
  11. The IR filter always help to go deep. In this image i liked how evident all the relief is. The shadows are projected over the back regions. The moon was 91.5% illuminated. C11" F10 + ASI224 + IR742nm Astronomik Pro Planet

  13. The image is beautiful! I liked the colors. These are M20 and M8. Trifid and Lagoon nebulas. Maybe you could try a star reduction in the Pixinsight. This usually brings more contrast to nebulosity. Congrats

  15. Exactly Craig. The RGB channels are only for the colour correction. The IR bandpass filter gives deeper details.
  16. ISS - International Space Station No time to fix focus, parameters or anything else ... So is the ISS capturing. Preparation is prior and should be a well-given shot.   17. Thanks Moody I think a Uranus capture needs only the same three things we want for another solar system targets: 1. Good seeing 2. Good telescope aperture 3. Good filters Generally, the first one has been my enemy 😂😂
  18. From a list of videos, this image was the final best among all. Maybe a cloud pattern can be noticed at pole. Now i'm waiting for a good sky to try capture in mono (IR)RGB.
