  1. But your blue moon luck is that Celestron! Buy before it goes!
  2. Baader kept the last E'scopics to sell with their Mk 5 bino viewer according to their Web site. But no longer offered.
  3. It is the same as a Baader Eudiascopic, ditto the Parks Gold. Japanese made.
  4. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-counterweight.html Skytee counter weights. Neat.
  5. This is the pictured weight band I use. Can go on bigger tubes when joined into one.https://www.amazon.co.uk/MiR-Unisex-Adult-20LBS-Weight/dp/B004FR5WPW
  6. Considering one for my C8. Thanks for the shots Alan, no tripping over that colour in the dark!
  7. Using eps from lightest an old 20mm Erfle to heaviest a 40mm ES Maxview, I use weighted wrist bands. They can be wrapped round the scope tubes, and the weight upped or downed by removing the weights from pockets, but mostly by sliding the band toward the end for heavier counter-balance and centre for less.
  8. How many lighter weight eps do have? Other side of the coin is compensating for their lightness, and keeping the 10XW & 22LVW.
  9. Original LVs weigh less & have an eye cup that rolls back much more, almost to the eye lens. 142g https://astrogarten-shop.de/en/accessories/eypieces/vixen/lv/eyepiece-vixen-lv-20mm.html
  10. You would lose the good 20mm eye relief the LVW22mm has. Panoptic 24mm has 15mm. The LVW Barlows well. Only 3 deg AFOV more with the 24, so poss very close as the 22 is slightly higher magnification. The LVW 22mm has a status of its own. Trading another ep for the 24, yes. Keep the 22 yes too! Have you considered a Vixen SLV 20mm or 25mm, 142g 20mm eye relief, and enough around to get a good pre-owned one. New 99.00 from FLO. Alan, LVW 22mm are hard to get as no longer made. 24mm Panoptics are current & relatively plentiful. Any TV seller can get one for you. Not so the LVW, it will only gain in value. What other FL eps fo you use with the 80?
  11. Pentax spotting scopes are excellent. They also take 1.25 inch eps, hence the XF/L/W eps.
  12. Definitely better for nature observation. They & the 76s could do with a stay-on cover with openable ends as are made for spotting scopes. I suppose a neoprene tube bag could be converted.
  13. Paulastro very nice indeed! I like the black and white balance. Refractors are addictive. ? Sad to read you had to sell your DL, I am on the cusp of buying one, I think. It's nice to know/assume that cherished equipment will be in the hands of others who will appreciate it. I feel that when selling eps, binoculars and photographic kit.
  14. Today my final Vixen LVW came. A second 13mm for bino viewers. I was lucky to find it, a pre-owned but good condition ep. (I am now defeated in finding my old Vixen 32mm Erfle. Not seen or wanted it for years. Not with any other Astro or photo kit )
  15. Tyson M, nice tripod! What make & model is it please? Does anyone own a Vixen AX103S triplet? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/vixen/vixen-ax103s-flat-field-apo-refractor.html
  16. @Johnand @Ruudthank you. I would like to try some more to disprove my pessimism. But where & how to try a range. Last time I had a Nagler, I was the only person at my AS with such an expensive ep. Nobody wanted to buy it, too dear even at my nice pre-owned price. ? Since then as John says, there are other makes, and I have great eps, but the disillusion with TV WA eps has stayed with me, and made me cautious to go over 70 deg AFOV (used to be 50, but then Vixen and Pentax became known to me). Are Delites better on eye ease than Delos?
  17. That is true, but such now seems almost an anachronism now, a cheap solution to aid acceptance of a design shortcoming. I remember some Radians I had & also trying a friend's T4 Naglers, which all needed pupil guides. Those experiences were, apart from my Panoptic 35, what have disinclined me to buy any more TV, though a 41 Panoptic is one I may get some day, if I can find a Barlow interface first (they have disappeared from the market).
  18. Bean there (sorry!). At least it's not a TV, which brand has had high cost & profile eps with kb and eye placement issues.
  19. My H/EQ5 tripod with fully extended legs + SW additional pier & Skytee 2 on top is 6 ft 3 ins high. It is top heavy though so needs its CoG lowered with a weight nearer the ground.
  20. There is a Vixen LVW 42mm on Amazon or ebay. They are lighter than Panoptic, no big balance issues, but 65 deg AFOV. Good but not too excessive eye relief.
  21. Impressive the DL is light enough for that mount. Would that still be the case with a 2 inch diagonal and (say) 2lb eye piece?
