  1. Looked very good under the steady seeing conditions at Tea-break (10am) this morning
  2. Looks like a good size AR, fingers crossed for the clouds tomorrow.
  3. Pretty decent again Neil, definitely some cloud details visible. Funny you mention the dewing problem, it was horrendous on Saturday morning for me. I thought the heated dew sheild had stopped working, it was so bad! It really caught me out this time, I was horrified when I saw the dew. I have been imaging for probably an hour like it.
  4. Very nice, the group has weakened a little since i last viewed it. Hopefully we will get another look tomorrow.
  5. Gassendi nicely positioned on Monday night, nice to get out under the stars again for a shortish session. Trying out the Asi174mm on the Moon for the 1st time i think. 1st image Gassendi is with a X1.8 Barlow, the next 2, Herschel, Shiller basin with a X3 Barlow. The X3 Barlow i think was too much for the conditions. Pleased with the Gassendi image, but Herschel, Schiller Basin don't look great. I think that is partially due to their positions, also the use of the X3 Barlow.
  6. The Mak180 "Planet killer" is killing the Moon as well, great looking images.
  7. Great to see you back imaging Simon, some lovely details visible there.
  8. With the Asi174mm i can almost get the full disc on the chip. The long side of the chip it fits easily, the short side i have to allow the disc to drift slowly across the field of view. The resolution is pretty low to be honest, i have though about doing a mosaic similar to what i do in H/A. But i have also had trouble stitching them, probably due to the lack of detail in a lot of the surface, other than fine Granulation.
  9. Finally got the low res full disc, to stack correctly.
  10. As 2960 exits from view, AR2965 is putting on a fine show. A sprawling mass of intricate spots and light bridges it is superb in white light. Typical imaging session, Tea break very stable seeing conditions, with quite a bit of cloud. The dinnertime session was much less cloud, but the seeing conditions were much poorer. Evostar 120mm, Asi174mm, X3 Barlow and Continuum filter. Best 20% of 9000 frames for both images. I have done a full disc capture as well, but that it currently stacking (hopefully)
  11. A fine H/A close up there, hopefully there will be a few more views this week
  12. Very nicely captured, so much to see at the moment!
  13. Superb image Neil, lovely level of detail there you have really got the hang of this white light imaging 🙂
  14. Very nice Stu, it would have been lovely to have watched it from home. So many individual little areas to observe, it would be interesting to see a animation of it particularly in white light.
  15. I managed some white light images during Tea Break, too much cloud for H/A though.
  16. I had 2 view of this today, 10am and 1 pm. The seeing was pretty good in the morning 8/10, but it had deteriorated by dinnertime. The AR is a sprawling mass of spots, containing a few light bridges, well worth a look over the next few days if the skies allow.

  21. An excellent image, especially considering the conditions it is an outstanding effort 👏 Definitely some UV detail visible there.
