Milky Way from Kos

Beautiful. I enjoyed Kos with bins a couple of years ago. Even from Kardemina beach it was great with milky way and scorpius very easily observed -

Here's an older one and here's my latest although the tube rings and focusers on both scopes have since changed! -
For your sake I hope it's sharper than the 120Ed and for my sake, I hope not by much! Either way, you cannot lose!

Ha ha I have a replacement insert but don't want to use it until I get my ahem, final set. -

Not at all. It's superb. I just prefer the Delites. There's still time to change my mind -

I do like the Delite range. Eventually the 15mm Pan might be on the chopping block and possibly even the 9mm Nagler even though I have only just re bought it! Ultimately I will possibly get a full set over time. While I save though I have plenty of time! -

I needed a 1.25" non-rotating helical focuser for my stage 2 PST mod and the only supplier that seemed to sell them within my budget were 365 Astronomy. I was a bit concerned about comments recently about out of stock items not being reflected on the site and having long leads times when items stated as being in stock were actually not in stock. The approach therefore was to ring Zoltan on the office number. He was quick and helpful with his response advising that one was in stock and that he'd save that for me and take the product off the website for now (presumably until more stock comes in). I then ordered online and the item was received within 48 hours. Really good service and the product is exactly as described and excellent value for money.

My Delites have the qualities of orthos other than tight eye relief and narrow field. -

Mine has changed a lot too, mainly reflected by reduced numbers. I really like the Delites and get on with them in every way. I am considering exchanging the 15mm Panoptic (for a 15mm), the 17.3mm Delos (for an 18.2mm) and the Pentax 8.5mm (for a 9mm) in due course but quite happy for now, especially as such a change would probably cost £300+. This could be mitigated by a change of the 26mm Nagler for the 27mm Panoptic but I am even more hesitant to do this. -
Sky Watcher 18" StarGate first review
Moonshane replied to raanany's topic in Member Equipment Reviews
Vaseline on the bearings? Seriously? It's really not that difficult to make a scope that works well if you apply a bit of thought. If you are set up to create this sort of thing then it should be even easier to make it with bells and whistles that all work as you (presumably) have the machinery. I have made things in my back garden with hand held routers and saws. It's just takes longer. Compare what you have with this. OK it's a different scale but they really are simple things in essence and it's annoying when companies cut corners. Stainless screws add almost nothing in the scheme of things. -
TAL no longer available?
Moonshane replied to DevonSkies's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Personally I'd go for a 100ED Skywatcher over a Tal any day of the week. The Tals are good value but in my experience even a good achromat is bettered by a good ED. I really don't like CA though. -
