  1. Yes and I was........sorry.........DeLited you did!
  2. Indeed John I expect they will be as new. D certainly looks after his kit. I am finding that observing comfort is claiming increasing importance. Must be getting old!
  3. My case only has five in it for now - recently reduced from 11. Currently 26 Nagler t5, 24 Panoptic, 17.3 Delos, 16 Nagler t5 (this may also be on the block as I think a 14 Delos might be a better bet) plus a 6-3mm Nagler zoom. Thankfully DRT (Derek) is feeding me two DeLites (7 & 11) to fill the gap :0)
  4. I suppose my requirements are less demanding as a visual only observer
  5. I must confess that this report has steered me toward the Moonlite purchase in due course. I have a Baader Steeltrack and really like it but the niggles with this one seem to suggest that for about the same price you can have a Moonlite and have less niggles? May be wrong.
  6. ps I have added CNC tube rings to both since these pics.
  7. They were on it when I bought it but I agree they are very useful. I think they are just readily available brass munsen rings.
  8. here's my old solar set-up Skywatcher 120 f5 and Lunt wedge for white light Standard PST and now my new set up PST stage two mod with Tal 100 and 120mm Skywatcher ED with same Lunt wedge.
  9. I am liking it Jules :0) As a solar white light scope it excels and it's great on doubles too. Easily allows the Cassini division to be seen in good seeing even currently with Saturn low in the sky. It's a fair old lump though and really needs a counterweight on my Giro 3 for smooth operation.
  10. Ssssshhhhhhh........here’s my two solar scopes still asleep and waiting to be used again in the sunshine. PSTAL and Skywatcher 120ED.
  11. The shower cap prevents frac owners from damaging their eyes on the collimation bolts if they look through the wrong end.
  12. you'll find out soon enough Dave..........
  13. LOL Yes, more will come next time I have a photo opportunity!
  14. Finally joined the fracfest Here's my 80mm S5000 APO. Set up for some lovely solar obs in white light today at school. Managed an impressive 96x with some stunning detail in the current large system. Obviously I can ignore the solar warning sticker when using the Lunt Wedge! I think I'll be improving this with some CNC rings and a better focuser in due course (unless I can sort it out with some teflon - usual Chinese telescope maker shortcuts - using thin plastic as the main shaft bearing rather than a teflon pad saving a few pence).
  15. I'll add some pics at some point. I have now a 120mm Skywatcher ED, 100mm PSTAL, and a 80mm Meade triplet.
  16. By the time I drive to Cambridge to collect next week about 230 quid so pretty good.
  17. here are mine 6" f11 Orion Optics UK on home made equatorial platform 12" f4 Orion Optics UK on home made base 16" f4 Orion Optics UK on home made base 12" truss system just bought on ebay - yet to collect. Yes I like dobs!
  18. Must........resist...........carry on humour...............
  19. I have started wearing an elasticated truss shroud. if long enough helps with dark adaptation and prevents dew drops
  20. you seem to have spent more on cases than you saved on eyepieces?!
  21. I can see a fair but of swap shopping (temporary obviously!) Going on at SGlx
  22. LOL depends what comes up - running out of money now. I will certainly eventually get a 4.8mm and yes, possibly the 11mm if one ever comes up but I do have a 12mm T2 already and 11mm plossl so maybe not. despite what most would consider too much stuff I still want more.
  23. Managed to secure a mint 9mm t1.. Looking forward to using it.
