  1. I am all Lovejoyed up having seen this comet for the first time this morning. Missed Ison but maybe another time or hopefully after the sun visit.

  2. I have reverse aperture fever. I have a 16" f4 dob and bought a 12" f4 dob and have now bought a 4.5" f4.3 newtonian and am loving it. I still have the others but the little guy is so dinky.

LOL. I can see the benefits of fracs and why people like them, I just prefer newts and see no reason to change my view. I am easily confused and the left right reversal of fracs drives me mad.

I swap my eyes...this works for me :)

  3. I don't profess to be either an expert or an expert speaker but was asked to do a couple of talks at the Peak Star Party recently. I have attached below my written handout notes for each session in the hope they will help the odd person with how to find objects in the sky and also how to ensure you get the best views when you do find them. These notes are based on my own experience and also information gleaned from many sources since I started observing; thanks to anyone who recognises their work or comments. If one person finds them useful then I'll be delighted and it's been worth the minor effort uploading them. They have been put into a couple of other threads but I felt they were somewhat hidden and might be more easily located here. Nice one, Shane. I managed it a few weeks back but no more than a smudge. No detail as such.

If it matches anything else that is conjured from the Moonshane laboratory, it is going to be amazing...

Fitted all bearings and a couple of coats of black stain. Just adding the clear top coats (x3) and it will be usable at last.
