  2. if going direct drive and you have the metal L bracket then you can see a couple of designs in the zip file from Robert as well as belt driven if you have access to a 3d printer. I take it your plans are for the sw200p is it dual speed focuser?

  4. Adjusting the Stepper Motor manually It is best to use a ceramic or plastic screwdriver when adjusting the pot. I would suggest a plastic knitting needle which has the end filed down to look like a screwdriver. 1. With the controller connected via USB, and 12V power to the driver board, set the focuser position to 0 and the Motor Speed to SLOW 2. Set the step mode to what set on the driver board "Full default all dip switches 0 " 3. Enter a focuser position of 5000 and click the Goto button 4. Wind the pot all the way anticlockwise until the motor stops moving 5. Now very slowly turn the pot clockwise until you see the motor start to turn. If the maxSteps is reached, just reset the focuser position to 0 and then type in 5000 for the position and click Goto again 6. Slowly turning the pot, when you see the stepper start to move ok without jerking, then slowly turn no more than 1/8th clockwise from that point 7. It should now be close enough 8. If you go too far then there will be too much current and the motor will run hot. You should use no more than 12V external power On some driver-boards clockwise might be anticlockwise. Once current is set, the stepper motor should run smoothly without missing steps (a missed step will be a sudden jerk which you will be able to feel or hear). If there is any of this, you might need to ever so slightly turn it a little more. Be careful as a little turn can make significant changes in current
  5. on the nema17-PG27 there are 5370 steps per revolution full step and 10740 in half step mode

  10. I've read Roberts Documentation and he only state's never disconnect/connect stepper motor or anc devices (temp) with 12v on, no mention about usb connection as far as I can see so ok to apply 12v then plug in usb and visa versa unplug usb then 12v power
  11. the pot to me at that setting giving 0.55amps if the motor is warm adjust so as smooth rotation is what you want. adjust so you cannot stop the motor by hand when rotating but as it is a geared motor you probably could not stop it. On another note do not disconnect the motor with 12v applied otherwise a dead driver board....

  13. you have wired up the coils correctly A+ = Black goes to 1A A- = Green goes to 1B B+ = Red goes to 2A B- = Blue goes to 2B
  14. have you changed the dip switches on the DRV8825 board? and you can change the pot settings on the DRV8825 chip as well to give more current. What stepper are you using?

  17. when you download the arduino firmware from https://sourceforge.net/projects/arduinoascomfocuserpro2diy/files/ARDUINO FIRMWARE/ look for latest version 299 then unzip and read the file libraries-important-read this.txt and all will explain as this includes all Unzip the file Locate the folder myFocuserPro2libraries, and in that folder There should be SIXTEEN folders Bounce2 LCD5110_Basic myAFMotor myDallasTemperature myDHT21 myEEPROM myHalfStepper myI2cKeypad myIRRemote myOLED myQueue myRotaryEncoder myTFTv2 myUTFT newliquidCrystal OneWire Move these folders to Documents\Arduino\libraries folder (for windows). Replace any existing folders or files. Do not edit or replace any of these files. They have been edited and modified to use with the myFocuserPro firmware. hope this helps

Bought through AliExpress from SVbony a SV165 guidescope came it at 51 dollars delivered to France in 7 days and zero charges received it the other day, maybe shipped from a local European warehouse as there were 2 labels one masking another for the delivery. and have bought from them in the past as well and no charges
  21. Great work there. Don't forget a blob or two of blackboard paint to those 4 allen heads and washers inside the tube.
  22. some serious wind here brewing 70km and trees struggling so natural selection will take it's course....
