  1. Anyone know what this is? I took flats for this session and i have subs from another target in the same session that doesn't have this. It looks like an edge on galaxy.
  2. That's very nice of you say. Thanks Gorann.
  3. Thanks yes indeed a close up would be very interesting. Thanks Olly.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to comment glad you like it.
  5. Thanks don. Thanks Chris indeed i'm hoping to get lots more with the other panels. Thanks Toxo. Thank you too Bob. Thanks Ciaran. I do like the dusty stuff.
  6. Thanks Adam. Unfortunately i haven't had any luck getting the collimation sorted yet. I've been using a laser but the laser itself needs collimating which is proving difficult. I'm not overly fussed at the moment as the stars are fine until zoomed in. Thanks Dave. Ah yes the Little Eagle is on my wishlist too. Can't wait to see yours. Thanks Peter
  7. Thanks. Doh! forgot to include those details. 6.5 hrs in 150 second subs.
  8. Hi. This was shot last Thursday night. A feint molecular cloud 450 light years from earth which includes Cederblad 30 and LBN 782. Plan here is a 4 panel mosaic. Shot through a Takahashi Epsilon 130 using a Zwo Asi 071 Mounted on an AzEq6 Captured using SgPro, Stacked with APP, Processed in APP, PS, and PI. Thanks for looking. Richard.
  9. Yes. I really like this. From the blues to those beautiful golden regions this really shines.
  10. I've never seen the Horsehead like this. It really is striking. Love the golden colour behind the head.
  11. As has been said try adding 1mm for your astrodon. You could put it between the camera and filter wheel. 1mm is critical at f2. Use a baht mask to get focus then tweak slightly to get round stars.
  12. Could it be connected to one of your scopes?
  13. I went through the same thing. I was lucky to have a little lens come with the asi 120 so i could confirm the camera worked. Can you connect the lodestar to a guidscope?
  14. You can setup as if imaging just during the day. Put your laptop in a cardboard box or something to remove the glare. Trial and error is sometimes the only way and why waste clear sky.
  15. Hi Rodd. You said earlier in the thread you're losing nights imaging trying to figure this out. I already suggested on a different thread, as has someone on this, to set up during the day. That was how i got my oag to focus with my asi 1600. I needed to add a spacer between the guidecam and the oag to get it to focus. You shouldn't be losing any imaging time as that only adds to the frustration.
  16. This might suit your scope better with the larger pixels. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi-294mc-pro-usb-30-cooled-colour-camera.html
  17. Hi Neil. Yes as Mikey2000 said flattener is built in i believe so no need for spacers. Yes it's a wonderful little scope. They are known to have some problems so i bought mine from flo and they send it off to be tested and adjusted if needed.
  18. I really like it. However i have no frame of reference. I bought it last september and only now am i getting the hang of it. It has it's issues, a strange diffraction pattern on very bright stars with certain setups. I had the issue with my ed 80, but when i changed to the Star 71 it vanished. I never did figure it out. All in all it's been a wonderful experience with it and a great intro into mono imaging, rgb, narrowband. My flickr account has some sample images. Hope this helps. Any other questions just ask. 19. Thanks Nige. This was taken with quite a bit of lp so looking forward to some dark sky soon.
  20. Hi Mike. Thanks. If i keep it at 30 seconds or below it's fine.
  21. Nice one, enjoy. Just started raining here in Cork when forecast was for clear sky earlier. Oh well.
