  1. Nice Sunny day, with clear skies, so doing a little WL solar (small AR group on the sun), and checking Venus out too in the daylight with my C8 SCT on my goto mount! :)

What mag did you use to find that small AR group - and how difficult is Venus to hunt down in daylight ?

I could see the small group of spots with my 32mm EP in my C8 SCT. I also got my 120mm ‘frac out to look at the spots better as I think I get a slightly better resolution than with the C8. If you have to hunt Venus down without the help of a goto mount then it might take a little hunting about for, but with patience it can be done still. Venus at the moment is so bright it’s an easy target to see even on a sunny day like today. Just be very careful when looking around to make sure you don’t get the sun anywhere near you FOV for obvious reasons. I use a solar filter on the C8 to do a solar system align on the sun, then goto Venus, take the solar filter off and normally Venus is in view in the EP easily.
