Very nice Mike. I'm confused. You mention one more addition, but there is space for three more in the box??? Paul

A Zoom Barlow? Didn't know that they existed! I am assuming that the quality is tip top? You don't fill a case with gourmet glass then screw it up with a mediocre barlow. Paul
-
Cracking selection Shaun. What scope(s) do you use? And. What is the Barlow for? Paul
-
Great write up Chops. It is a rare treat to get structured a dispassionate review of three options. It is amazing the difference that spending an extra £10-£30 can make! Paul

Suddenly the case full of Delos is looking a bit over priced....... Bill - Thanks for the indepth review that the reader can enjoy without a PhD in optics! Paul
-
Ahhhhhhhhh. A master plan! The definitive Telvue shootout thread will run and run. Did you reorder the Delites? If so, do we have a due date? Paul
-
Derek Why trade down from Delos to Delite? Paul

That cap looks vaugely medical. Should stop the spiders setting up home anyway. Paul -

Nice looking scope. Have they changed the top assembly so that the focuser is at a sensible angle rather than the awkward 90° positioning that they used to sport? Paul -

Mark A first public outing for the new base? Looks like it should do the job. How is it working and did you save much weight? Paul -

I like the drinks holders strapped to the side of the base. Ingenious! Paul -
Ok, I have a confession to make. With all the extra little bits and pieces, these go in two cases. That way I have a bit of spare space in the event of an accidental eye piece purchase. Paul

Here is my current final iteration.... The MaxVision 68°s have morphed into a Delos and a couple of 82° ES heavy weights. Paul

These guys have had a bit of stick over the last few weeks so I thought that I would post my recent experience. I ordered a focuser upgrade and a Telrad 07:30 on Friday. It arrived well packaged 10:30 Saturday morning. This was using their standard delivery!! I'll be using them again. Paul

You know that you are at a dark site when the clouds are black rather than lit up by light reflecting off their undersides. Great post Acey. Paul

I was a die hard star hopping devotee until Saturday night when Stu kindly let me loose on his dob. I couldn't belive how well this system worked. You could even venture into the bowels of the Vergo galaxies without fear! Paul -
Derek Looks great. ££££££++++ in glass. £15 Maplins flight case???? (at least our EP collection has something in common) Don't they deserve something bespoke? Paul PS. I'm just grumpy because I dithered when your Nagler 22mm popped onto the classifieds. Hope that it has gone to a good home.

Vixen SLV Eyepiece Report: 6mm, 12mm and 20mm
Paul73 replied to John's topic in Member Equipment Reviews
Bish The 5mm is similar quality to the 6mm in terms of image and comfort of use. However, in your 10", the quality of seeing/turbulence will make the 6mm more used than the 5mm. I have to admit to jumping in shortly before John's report came out (zero self control). It was something of a relief when he gave them the thumbs up. At that point, I had no reference point against which to judge performance. That is why these reviews are so helpful. Paul -
That is a whole lot of green!! Which get most use? Paul

Finally got time to read this one. Kids in bed, wife out, evening concert on in the background, beer cold.... Finally everything is in alignment. What a great & informative read. Thank you for a happy hour. Paul

Thanks for pulling this together. I'm looking forward to reading it properly later. In the meantime, for those inspired by the read, here is a link to a really usefull PN atlas (courtesy of Nick / Cotterless45). http://stargazerslounge.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=134026 Paul

Vixen SLV Eyepiece Report: 6mm, 12mm and 20mm
Paul73 replied to John's topic in Member Equipment Reviews
Thanks for the report. I took a punt and got the 6mm and am happily impressed with the views, comfort of use and the build quality. All I have to compare against is the BST which didn't stand much of a chance (albeit at half the price), so it is good near the voice of experience giving them the thumbs up. Paul -

Jonas This is a truely stunning piece of work. I'm sitting on a train speeding through a dark rainy, once industrial northern England, Jimmy Hendrix on loud and enjoying your image. Really quite surreal. Paul -
