  1. Thank you so much, really appreciate it. I took this from home, it’s a decent Bortle 4 I’d say. On a good night the sky is strikingly beautiful.
  2. Great news, look forward to your images. You have a really decent AP kit
  3. Amazing. Looks like the shark is racing out of a sandy patch of water.
  4. I've started uploading my images to Astrobin, and again very happy to have a top pick nomination with this one. https://astrob.in/jm9ywy/0/
  5. Superb, the starless version does give a real insight into the strands of nebulosity that would otherwise be hidden. The colour/saturation is just right and the stars are perfectly balancing the nebulosity in the first image.
  6. Great job Rodd, you should be happy with that one.
  7. That’s a superb result there, and from only 8 hours data 😮
  8. Very cool to see something different.
  9. Phenomenal, such detail. I had a clear night last night, never thought about this one
  10. That will be your problem. Insert the diagonal and you’ll get focus ok.
  11. Do you have the diagonal inserted into the ST80? Or an extension tube? Try today in the day light to get focus on something a few hundred metres away. This will ensure the camera is working and get you in the ball park area for focus at infinity.
  12. I have a skynyx-Lumenera board level camera too, and I use Lucam but it only records on JPEGs as I don’t have a paid version. I’m pretty sure I have used it with Sharpcap though.
  13. I run my windows updates during the day once a month, then pause for a few weeks and repeat.
  14. I disable mine for max time period but eventually you have to update. Did that happen? @gorann if in aeroplane mode can you still use the internet for remotely connecting to the pc?
  15. This would definitely be the first thing I’d be trying. At least rule out the hub.
  16. Amazing detail in the core, nebulous looking. Superb
  17. Few plans for me: 1) Keeping running my dual rig of widefield refractors until galaxy season 2) Fit the larger M2 SSD drive I bought six months ago to my mini PC so that my ASC doesnt keep running out of disk space 3) Set up my Epsilon 180 with an Optec FocusLynx/Moonlite focuser and borrow an HEQ5 off a friend in mid-November, and use this with my full frame Nikon D800E for some deep widefield shots around Orion. If the HEQ5 can handle the Epsilon then buy my own, otherwise look for an EQ6. If this works out then build a small RoR shed observatory for this set up. 4) Get excited about new scope arriving next week, and set it up on an old LXD75 to make sure it's good (its brand new but still 5) Swap over dual rig for the new scope in galaxy season. 6) Invite the neighbours over for some observing on a nice cold dry evening in Winter 7) Targets wise - going to build on a few data sets I've started, and aim for 6-8 decent images before Easter. I want to do M31 again, and get more data on the Witch Head nebula.
  18. It's funny, I love my gold version, and I've had all the colours - blue and black. But gold is the best Full frame is a reasonably big ask, not many scopes in that price bracket that would properly accommodate that size of sensor.
  19. @Stuart1971 I'll have to make do with my poorly designed wedge 🤣 @matija Is it easy to balance = yes very, it glides effortlessly with the clutches off. Is it easy to polar align = yes, with Sharpcap Pro software it's is very straightforward. Would I want to be setting one up each night = no I dont think so.
  20. I have a mesu e200 (mark 2) and find the bolt system ok. Not sure if it’s a backward step - it’s simple and mimics actions like collimation. Using a large 19mm spanner (as said above) it is easy to carry out the slightest of adjustments to any of the six bolts. I think unless you’ve tried it, then it’s hard to be sure about how good (or poor) something is 👌🏻 My wedge was an off the shelf version made by Lucas as I didn’t want to wait months for a custom one set to my exact location, hence the angle of the mount compared to the wedge.
  21. Very nicely done, I like the blue region WR134
  22. That is annoying. Seems like a good saving to be had and the wife has given me the thumbs up.
