  1. Thanks @whipdry I went to bed last night, going to look at it today. Quite a bit of data needs pulled off it too (50+ hours) hope it’s not corrupted
  2. Tried rebooting a few times, did some updates. No joy. Unfortunately don’t have a back up
  3. Hi guys, need some help as something simple (hopefully) is wrong and I can’t work it out. I’ve been imaging frequently when the weather allows, and it’s probably 2-3 weeks since I last used everything in the observatory. I went out tonight and the mount refuses to connect. It lights up with power and nothing has physically changed since I last used it. Im permanently set up so I don’t plug and unplug cables. When I open up SkyView it’s view is different, looks like Alt Az maybe and in config it says I’m in az mode. In a separate note one of my SGPro sequence files refuses to open and says is corrupt. What the heck is going on? IMG_3793.MOV
  4. I am trying to setup here after about 3 weeks with no imaging and the mount won’t connect and SGPro can’t find my sequence file - says it corrupt. Loads of weird things going on ffs. I was collecting m81 m82 data for a bit there, probably have about 60 hours on it I need to stack. Might try Polaris region 👍🏻 cheers.
  5. Good suggestion but might be a bit late in the year for it for me.
  6. Hi guys. I haven’t bothered swapping over to a longer focal length so not really sure what to aim for at approx 500mm. Any suggestions for a target for night of imaging as it’s looking clear for a few hours. Not really looking for a widefield grouping of galaxies either, rather something dusty or nebulous! Cheers!
  7. I ran a few at 15s ISO1600 for the video but the photo was 15s ISO200 which turned out to be a good setting. ISO1600 was over exposed.
  8. My best shot of the evening, and a timelapse of the last bit around 11:30pm https://streamable.com/qe01us
  9. Highest rating ive seen this evening but still daylight. Now it’s dark it’s cloudy!
  10. Fantastic images on this thread. @Jonk can’t believe it was so clear on your all sky camera.
  11. It’s insane. Looking at a tall pillar of red light, clearly naked eye visible. Thanks to @Budgie1 for his thread. I normally get alerts on my phone but it was on sleep mode and I just seen the forum thread
  12. Never seen detail like this in M78 before. Really need to stack my multisession data on this target
  13. Sean, that was very unlucky! Hopefully it’s all resolved to your satisfaction
  14. The MPCC III improved it but did not completely eradicate the issue.
  15. Would be easy to rule out and worry trying but removing or moving the band.
  16. No it sags relative to its position. It’s quite feasible to sag differently through the session as the scope moves. The fact it’s so small does point towards tilt
  17. Ok that makes sense. Can you post the subs too?
  18. One suggestion - temp changes. My APM105 is quite bad for temp changes to focus. One night I forgot to enable focus on temp change and over 30 minutes my images went completely out of focus. This was at 2:30am too.
  19. Havent managed to figure it out yet! Seems to align but not stacking automatically, and I havent got that far with PI yet.
  20. Got an email about a new comet registration tool. Running it now on a load of luminance data. Hopefully it stacks comet and stars both “The CometAlignment tool has been designed to align fast–moving objects, such as asteroids and comets, interactively among the stars. The process also allows you to perform subtraction operations among frames to obtain images of the star field without the comet or a starless comet. The new version we have released today is a complete redesign and reimplementation with significant improvements and new features. See the official announcement on PixInsight Forum for complete information. See also the reference documentation we have just published on our corporate website.”
  21. Just got an email from PI last night, looks like they have created a new version of the comet alignment tool that does this all automatically
  22. Cheers again, I started removing the stars from the subs at 9:30am. It’s still churning away at the 250 subs and I’ve a fairly decent PC! Should be done by tomorrow afternoon sometime.
