The 400P is out and cooling down, had it out once this season so far, I think! Was considering selling it, but an hour on Thurs night with my trusty 10 inch dob reminded me how amazing DSO's look. I will sit down first before taking in the Orion Nebula. Good luck anyone hoping to get out tonight!!

Can anyone tell me when there is even the slightest chance of a clear night all night in southern England? Really losing the will with all this darn cloud. Where in the world should I choose to move to for clear skies?!

This weekend has been totally ruined by the seeing, not happy.

done the improvements to the obsy roof just in time, raining again!

I don't think I can recall the seeing being this bad. Truly unimageable.

I have just picked up a lesser spotted Quark from the post office!!

Woohoo - Bank Holiday weather!

What a solar transit that could have been! Out imaging the Sun when I hear a big noise up in the sky. I could see five jets in formation, heading vaguely towards the Sun. Hit the record button just in case... All nine jets as it turned out missed the Sun, what a shame! I guess that was the Red Arrows then!

Wohoo, my replacement Quark solar hydrogen alpha "eyepiece" has arrived at SCS Astro! I have sent my faulty one back today and look forward to the replacement one. Big thanks to SCS Astro for letting me use the faulty one while waiting for the replacement :)
