  1. Thanks for the reply. That’s really helpful. ive got a month or so before thaw adapter gets delivered so plenty of time to hunt one down.
  2. I looked at Tecobuy but it seemed a little too good to be true. Will have another look.
  3. Shame they are different but I’m not surprised. Cheapest I can find a Canon one is £450 ish. Sony are £100 cheaper and the Canon ones don’t seem to come up 2nd hand.
  4. Another silly question... have been searching for a second hand Samyang and all the cheap ones are Sony fit. If I am going to use the #Uranium235 adapter does it have to be Canon fit or will any do ?
  5. I suppose it depends on what is going on top of the ring. If you are mounting a guide camera on it then it probably won't be worth it. If it is staying as it is then it will only need a tiny bit taken off, personally I would file it.
  6. Just my thoughts. I have an EQ6 and use StellarMate but I haven’t plugged a hand controller in. Could there be a conflict?
  7. Love this. Is it cropped at all? Did you use an IR/UV filter at all?
  8. I think the 135 is going to be my next purchase after what I have read and seen on this thread. Does anyone know if this holder - https://www.firstlightoptics.com/tube-rings/wo_zs61_cat_handle_kit_rd.html Will fit and do the job? Then I can share my W/O guide scope. TIA Richie
  9. I have the advance and really rate it. Run my lakeside focuser from it with the correct cable purchased separately. as for the Pi, I just use one of the USB2 ports to power it. Works fine. If I owned all ZWO I would have gone for the Air but Atik and Lakeside won’t play hence the Pegasus. It has made set up and take down a breeze. Takes seconds now so it’s almost worth it for that. I ended up buying the recommended power supply for another £70 and haven’t tried it on 12v yet.
  10. Well done Dean. Hope you get some clear skies soon.
  11. I have the 533mc and it ran all night at temps of -2 just fine. I had the camera cooled to -20. As for dew tapes, FLO just sent me the finderscope 2" Lynx Astro dew tape and it looks like a very nice bit of kit compared to previous brands.
  12. That's not good. I have it all set up but got the 365 gizmo on it until it clears. Good job you noticed it.
  13. Mr Thingy - Sure, I only need a small patch down here 🙂
  14. It's still looking good for Kent tonight. Hope I remember how it all goes together!
  15. I'm out regardless. Not had 1 clear night that I was available for in 14 weeks so I will finally get to try my new camera.....hopefully.
  16. Well that was definitely worth waiting for!
  17. It was well worth it. I coupled it with a Telegizmo365 cover for the mount/tripod. My rig stays assembled so I just have to plonk it on, slide it up to the bolt on the dovetail that means I'm balanced, a quick tweak on alignment then I am all ready to go in 5 mins. I just use one of the USB ports to power the RPi, been fine.
  18. I run everything through a Pegasus upbv2 with a single USB2 connection to the RPi and it works fine. My subs are only 16mb but I’m sure larger would be fine.
  19. I use StellarMate OS on an RPi 4gb and it’s faultless. Unless I try to use USB3 and then it occasionally freezes but if I only use USB2 it’s rock solid. The new multi star guiding is great and the polar align software is easy to use and very fast. Worth trying for the small outlay it will cost you in my opinion.
  20. I’m in the same position with my old 3rd hand eq6 that still tracks great but is just too heavy to be mobile (in my opinion) been looking at the Gem28 but not cheap with an eq6 equivalent tripod.
  21. I really like your processing. That’s kind of how I imagine space looks 😁
  22. Mine had a piece of cotton wool at the bottom of the 3 tablets, I swapped that out too.
  23. Had this with my 383, luckily I still had the spare dessicant tabs. Swapped them out and sorted it. I wondered where it went (cleared after half an hour) but was too lazy to ask.
  24. All good advise above. That’s how I do it treating each module separately. It’s going to take a while until you get each setting on each module perfect for you so keep things as simple as you can. The new multi star guiding is brilliant by the way 😁
  25. I love a mono image and rarely see a B/W Orion. It’s lovely I’m looking forward to it clearing the houses so I can have a go.
