  1. Hi its ta windows machine, thanks will have a look but feel defeated if i have to use instructions! lol.
  2. Hi, I have down loaded the PI version but cant seem to get PI to recognise it. Is there someting else needed or is it my fingers?
  3. Hi and thanks for the pointer, as i said before the summer break had it sussed and working fine. Must be just an age thing lol. Will give it another go the next clear night.
  4. Hi, yes both sync in Cdc ( Sorry used wrong Abreviation ) and APT. Thining about it I may not have selected an alignment star In APT. Didnt think you needed to do that, I was under the impression that you could do it all via Cdc. Oh and i only used one star for alignment, but in the past thats been all i have needed to use.
  5. Hi all, tried my first session of the new season the other night ( havent been out with it since mid May ), anyway was a bit rustie on how things went but got the kit together and up and running ( or so I thought )! The problem Im having is I can select a star to align on on in Cdc, get it centered on the screen in APT, press sync in Cdc and APT. The co ord box in APT fill with numbers so I think ok thats good. Now the problem, I selected M16 as the target in Cdc press slew and it moves a few Deg and stops no where near the target. I went through this a few times with the same result. As it was playing up went with the old hand set and tried and that wored sort of. I thin the problem is me and finger trouble but cant for the life of me think what im doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Andy.
  6. Will be interested on your thoughts about this scope, I have been hovering around the buy button for a while. Looking at using it for imaging.
  7. Hi, I have been using the TS FF/reducer with my 72ed and have found from my limited use so far that it gives good results. My spacing for it at the moment is 65.5 mm but I think i need to do a few more tweaks to get it exact.( waiting for dark nights to return! ) Here is a single sub taken with the scope and TS FF
  8. I have only used my SW 72 ED once as summer nights have arrived here but from my short time of use so far I think its a brilliant little scope. Roll on August so I can give it a good run!
  9. Im no expert but have used a SW synguider for several years with no problems. Yes it takes a little setting up at first but once that is sorted it has worked well. I wouldnt say stay away from it, like many things once you have got it in your head how it works it becomes second nature.
  10. V nice image just luv the scale this little scope gives you, cant wait to use my SW 72 Ed in anger! just waiting for the dark skies to return.
  11. Sorry for the Hi jack, Didnt read your post properly.
  12. V nice, it is good to see them all together and as you say they have there own characters.
  13. Make that 3. I would be interested an people's thoughts on this scope for imaging too.
  14. V nice, one of my fav targets. Hope to do this one next season.
  15. Hi Vlaiv. Thanks for the reply and the pointers. I will have to have a good read and digest what you have said. The SW 100 ED seems to be good value ( relatively ) the only real concern is the weight on my HEQ5. I will have a good look at your recemondations. Thanks once again.
  16. Hi all, for the past few years I have been using a SW 130 pds and have found it a V good scope and have been pleased with most of the images it has produced. But, and its becoming a big but!, collimation and diffraction spikes are becoming a bit of a bug bear. I recently bought a SW 72 ED pro for wide field stuff and although I havent really had chance to use it properly it has convinced me fracs is the way to go. I should say at this point that this is a future wish list at the moment and I may have to struggle on for one more season with my 130.. Anyway to the the crux of the matter, I have a SW HEQ 5 mount and have no wish at the moment of changing it and as far as I can find out is good for upto 11KG imaging rig. I have been looking at the Esprit 100 as a possible way to go but the price is high ( for me ) and it weight with all the little extras may be v close to the 11KG limit. Do any of you out there use this scope with a HEQ 5 and if so do you have any problems? The second question is there any other good alternatives ( preferably cheaper ) that would be a good replacement for my 130 pds. Oh the camera I use is a Zwo 1600mm with filter wheel. Thanks in advance.
  17. I think you are all being very kind, but thank you.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I will sit and have a play tomorrow, hopefully I will get something sorted from the data.
