  1. This is an update from an earlier post: I have just about doubled the data and I think you can see the effect. Im realy loving my little SW 72 ed the only problem is me and my lack of framing skills ( had to crop it a little more than planned ). So here it is, more data and a little less stretch. Hints and tips welcome.
  2. V nice indeed.
  3. Thank you Thank you. I will pick away at it as long as its in view, it was meant to be a quick target just to get back into the swing of things after the summer but has turned into a little project.
  4. Hi all, After a few false starts I managed to get my first shot of the season also my first NB image with my newish SW ED72. I had done the Tulip years back with my old DSLR and although this image is better it still needs a lot more data. All taken with my ZWO 1600mm at -15c and gain at 200. Ha 16 x 240 sec Oiii 25 x 240 sec Sii 22 x 240 sec Think i will add more Ha data at my next session. Hints and tips welcome. Thanks for looking.
  5. Hi, just got my other laptop out, a more modern machine and it works on that! At least I now know I'm not going mad.lol. my old laptop is the one I prefer to use for processing as it's a lot faster and usable. I think I will have to switch between the two but I'm so impressed with the starnet processing. Thank you to you all for the help and support.
  6. Hi its windows 10, I will have to look at that. Im not much of a puter geek. Hi, got the latest version. Im wondering wether its my lap top as its a good runner but over ten years old. Thanks both for the help.
  7. Nope cant get it to run. Keeping getting fail msg. oh well never mind Thanks for the help though.
  8. Hi its ta windows machine, thanks will have a look but feel defeated if i have to use instructions! lol.
  9. Hi, I have down loaded the PI version but cant seem to get PI to recognise it. Is there someting else needed or is it my fingers?
  10. Hi and thanks for the pointer, as i said before the summer break had it sussed and working fine. Must be just an age thing lol. Will give it another go the next clear night.
  11. Hi, yes both sync in Cdc ( Sorry used wrong Abreviation ) and APT. Thining about it I may not have selected an alignment star In APT. Didnt think you needed to do that, I was under the impression that you could do it all via Cdc. Oh and i only used one star for alignment, but in the past thats been all i have needed to use.
  12. Hi all, tried my first session of the new season the other night ( havent been out with it since mid May ), anyway was a bit rustie on how things went but got the kit together and up and running ( or so I thought )! The problem Im having is I can select a star to align on on in Cdc, get it centered on the screen in APT, press sync in Cdc and APT. The co ord box in APT fill with numbers so I think ok thats good. Now the problem, I selected M16 as the target in Cdc press slew and it moves a few Deg and stops no where near the target. I went through this a few times with the same result. As it was playing up went with the old hand set and tried and that wored sort of. I thin the problem is me and finger trouble but cant for the life of me think what im doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Andy.
  13. Will be interested on your thoughts about this scope, I have been hovering around the buy button for a while. Looking at using it for imaging.
  14. Hi, I have been using the TS FF/reducer with my 72ed and have found from my limited use so far that it gives good results. My spacing for it at the moment is 65.5 mm but I think i need to do a few more tweaks to get it exact.( waiting for dark nights to return! ) Here is a single sub taken with the scope and TS FF
  15. I have only used my SW 72 ED once as summer nights have arrived here but from my short time of use so far I think its a brilliant little scope. Roll on August so I can give it a good run!
  16. Im no expert but have used a SW synguider for several years with no problems. Yes it takes a little setting up at first but once that is sorted it has worked well. I wouldnt say stay away from it, like many things once you have got it in your head how it works it becomes second nature.
  17. V nice image just luv the scale this little scope gives you, cant wait to use my SW 72 Ed in anger! just waiting for the dark skies to return.
