  1. I just know PS and am not really IT minded, even the most simple things fox me, I have had PS for years so just stick with it. I keep thinking about other software but I am also rather reluctant to use cards on the Net. Alan
  2. I had a good look at it in PS and the values in the background sky are way down in the green channel single figures in most places, However I have dropped the green in the galaxy and could not see any difference, but the Aqua channel did change it a fair bit. Alan
  3. I just use PS and DSS, the Borg always seems to have a green caste to it. Alan
  4. Captured this last year and for what ever reason didn't bother processing it, which is not like me. Only 90mins on M33 but I feel it has come out half decent. Taken with the Borg 77ED II F4.3 and Zwo 071. Not over keen on this scope as it is such a devil to focus. Feel free to offer criticism, there's plenty wrong I am sure. Alan
  5. I have no plans to get another Dob, I lost interest when I was not so well with my prostate problem, I was not meant to allow it to get cold can you believe. I am fine now after the operation but never got that interest back. The 115mm went a long time ago, a local that had to have one made me a very good offer and a swap for a TS 115mm, which I have to say is very good indeed, so much so it is almost impossible for me to tell them apart when I compare results from the Canon and now with the Zwo. I dare say it would have shown a difference had I ever used the Zwo 071 on it, but I never did. Alan
  6. Must look decent through that 24 inch of yours, I had my 18 inch on before, though I have now sold it on to one of our members from Belgium, who drove here to collect it. Alan
  7. Nice shot Ivan, not one I have seen done before. Alan
  8. Thanks for that advice, I must try to increase it, I am at 41 north so your a tad better off than me, I generally use at least 4 seconds that low, though higher up like last night I had superb results on 2.5 seconds Alan
  9. Don't know what I am doing wrong but this does come out fairly well, it like the other was processed in record time but some how sort of pops out at you. This is a low object here though better than any UK location, not helped by the very high evening temperatures which I am sure cause a lot of turbulence in the air. Must try this wham bam processing more often. Alan
  10. As good as any I have seen, and that's s afew. Well done Sir. Alan
  11. My images are rubbish compared to many on this site but I pushed the boat out on this one and collect 16 hours of data as opposed to my normal 2 or so. So here poorly processed as I was still learning about flats and the like, its M33. I should try this again as I am a bit better now and I think I still have the data. Sort of prefer the this rendition of the same data, not so much saturation of the same subject Alan
  12. I have a number of refractors and all have traveled massive distances as most start in China. I person feel they hold collimation extremely well and any adjustment is a skilled job ( particularly with triplets ) and is best left alone. Alan
  13. Beautiful work as usual Rodd, I always see these and think of banging my 12 Meade at F6.3 on the mount or the 180mm Mak and then realised best left to the experts Alan
  14. Just thought I would post this up which is about 2 1/2 hours of M8, I have cropped it a tad just to make it a bit different from the other days effort. A bit late now but this is a target that would have benefited somewhat from turn the camera through 90 degrees. It has a little bit of condensation artifacts along the bottom edge, most I have cropped out but not all. I have solved this problem now thanks to help from site members. Alan
  15. I have a graphic designers screen that my mate got me s/h, he told me it would have cost a lot new, over 600e, don't make coffee though. To my eye, which is normally excellent for colour perception as this was a part of my job years ago and I was tested for this often, it looks OK to me but so much is down to the screen as you know. Your shots always look excellent Rodd and it is clear you take a lot of care, I tend to trust to luck somewhat. Alan
  16. Thank you all for the kind words, I added another 80mins the night after, which helped of course. I am limited by trees, my trees at that. The strange thing is I could not have processed it faster if I tried, about 3 minutes. Alan
  17. Your probably spot on it took me about 2 minutes to process, I find the way I do things they do head towards the green. Alan
  18. That's a very nice shot there Martin, see you learning from some of the cloud shots the other day. Alan
  19. Hi Dave, Yes it has been hot but according to data the cooler was never working above 50% and the set temperature was not at zero, it was in fact 4C. I would have though ice was not possible if that figure is accurate. I have though got the exact same affect that you show on a number of occasions. I does seem to have gone away now as I slowed down the cooling, then other nights never saw it as I may well have cooled about an hour in front of the first exposure. Alan
  20. There were some stunning shots and video's well done all of you. Alan
  21. I slowed the cooling down and it went away so looks like condensation maybe. Thanks for the help. Alan
  22. Not flats without doubt. Interesting I slowed everything down and went to 1 degree steps and actually went lower to 2C and nothing, so looks like it was condensation as you stated. Thanks for the reply. I was still about the same below ambient though as it was 28C. Alan
  23. I added another 80mins the other night and it really helped, won't bother posting, one can have too much Lagoon. Last night was a pain the C-D-C was playing up and stopped the session without me knowing, most strange. Alan
  24. No I haven't tried that as the humidity here is so low at this time of year at 30% or so. I will look into it though. It is not the first time I have had this but before I would have thought it was clearly ice. After 22 days of rain in June it was not there abut the sun has shone mainly since. Think I need to be having an in depth look at it. Only just done the flats too, more messing about once I take it off. Alan
  25. This is a 071 but I believe it is the 2nd gen model, it is 2 years old. It is permanently on the scope and the inside observatory temperature will be about 40C. I don't see how it could be ice as I have said but it could be condensation. I must go out and have a look see if I can see anything on the chip. Maybe I will slow down the cooldown and also try a shot before any cooling. I have only seen it for the last two weeks or so but much the same each night. Alan
