  1. Beat me to it Just about to link your tutorial http://download.startools.org/Siril with Sirilic.pdf
  2. I think I did I would need to check I usually use the isolate module , 2nd process due to flats problem so re stacked without flats and used bias as darks in Siril scripts no flats , came out a lot better just need more data if I can get another 8hrs 🙏🏻
  3. Get this first https://www.firstlightoptics.com/books/making-every-photon-count-steve-richards.html whats the rush
  4. Iris nebula 4hr X240sec subs , 200pds Nikon D5300 stacked in Siril processed in Startools 1.7 @jager945
  5. You’ll want a polyurethane sealant they do black or white can be over painted once cured far better than silicone , wear gloves as it’s a pig to clean off hands we use it in the marine industry very strong and waterproof can be sanded once cured too unlike silicone . something like this https://www.toolstation.com/puraflex-40-high-modulus-pu-sealant-adhesive-300ml/p67949?store=I6&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyoHWqcH36gIVze3tCh1IpwOJEAQYASABEgLKWfD_BwE
  6. It’s all to do with signal to noise you gain nothing with a higher iso ,assuming the D5000 is iso invariant .
  7. I have just put a 500d into a camera shop for sensor cleaning hopefully they’re better than me at doing it Cost £30, you could try increasing exposure time on flats maybe.
  8. Hi try dropping iso to 400 for better dynamic range http://dslr-astrophotography.com/iso-values-nikon-cameras/ ,and more data try for at least 4hrs min the more the merrier and try longer subs if possible i tend to use 240 sec subs
  9. Be careful cutting tube back as too much will cause tube to roll off runners before hitting tube stop , I got a 130pds where this had been done now fixed though only need about 10-15 mm off .
  10. Ic 5076 reflection nebula approx 4hrs data Nikon d5300 sw 200pds
  11. I usually platesolve from home though I have read best not to though never had a problem, you can manually slew off home position then platesolve and sync .
  12. Start off by imaging the sky and blind plate solve , once image had successfully solved , sync mount , then use go to++ choosing an your object from the Apt list , then let Apt do the rest it will put object within a few pixels
  13. If you use a Baader cc you can screw on the end , I had an old skywatcher 2” filter I unscrewed from outer ring and screwed to the m42 thread of the T-ring just buy a spare T-ring so you don’t need to take back out .
  14. Try using the scripts in Siril ,very easy , just use the script that suits your imaging .
  15. You would probobaly benefit from a Duoband filter but way over budget keep saving https://www.firstlightoptics.com/light-pollution-reduction-imaging/optolong-l-enhance-narrowband-deep-sky-imaging-filter.html
  16. My guiding usually a bit like yours shown , thinking maybe it was the mount , then last session on the eagle nebula I guided at 0.30RMS ,Graphs was near flat exposure I had down to something like 1sec usually I was using 2-3sec maybe it was a combination of things being right seeing on the night was very good , maybe on the night conditions weren’t favourable for you , I use the predictive Pec algorithm on my Eq6 belt mod mount .
  17. After each stacking session Your left with. Stacked Il fits image ,it’s each final result you stack together , you’ve already applied sigma tacking etc to get the stacked fit , I found it to work very well , you could also use sirillic to process and stack all data rather than use the scripts , tutorial below . http://download.startools.org/Siril with Sirilic.pdf
  18. Try this if I have got it right ,Every stacking session gives you a stacked fits file ,add a number to fits file name 1,2 etc so you know what files what , you create a folder and store these fits files you want to merge , then in registration tick match stars make sure the working directory path is pointing to folder with fits files you want to stack , then go to stacking tab and select go stack , that’s it you’ll be left with a single fits file of all sessions .
  19. You stack the final stack from each night I’m sure I have written it down somewhere will see if I can find it can’t remember off the top of my head .
