Heavan help you if you watch Taggart then. The quintessential Scottish crime series with its Glaswegian accent that many outside Scotland find difficult to understand,.

I had the Bresser WiFi camera but wasnโt impressed at all. The WiFi was undependable and image quality poor. You would be far better off getting something like the ZWO 120 camera which is a proper camera even if it is the bottom of the ZWO range. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi120mc-s-usb-3-colour-camera.html For basic eyepieces such as you have linked to one these are a better buy. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/astro-essentials-eyepieces/astro-essentials-super-plossl-eyepiece.html Of course there are better eyepieces available from FLO but have a look at others on their site.

Stellalyra vs SW 6"
johninderby replied to Shure's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
You should note that the eyepieces that come with most dobs are very low end cheap eyepieces and are the first thing most people replace with something better so donโt bother about how many eyepieces are included. -

I remember attending one of James Burkeโs lectures in Toronto many years ago. Very interesting and plenty of humourus anecdotes as well. A couple of hours well spent. ๐๐ป -
Jupiter was poor tonight. Not good seeing at all.

First thing have you collimated the scope?

First test of the Rowan AZ100 motor system. Worked rather well with nice accurate slews to targets. So quiet I didnโt notice any noise at all while slewing. Not going to br any problems annoying neighbours with operating noise. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป

And don't forget the Kendrick solar filters, again made using Baader film. -

This is popular. A cheap foldable box to put your laptop in and keep the sun off the screen while observing. Makes a good sun hood when on itโs side. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/droena-box-black-30219281/

I did a head to head between my 100mm f/13 Carton and a WO FLT98 for planetary observing and the greater depth of field of the Carton made a real difference on Jupiter for example as the entire disk was in sharp focus whereas with the FLT98 it wasnโt. The Carton was simply the better planetary scope. The FLT98 was however a better all rounder even though it was beaten for planetary.

Solar filter for C9.25 HD
johninderby replied to Maideneer's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
The Thousand Oaks glass filter are one of the best glass filters around and many do like them. The Baader film gives a brighter image though so the use of a variable polarising filter is recommended to allow you to adjust brightness to give the maximum detail depending on the seeing conditions. The Baader film is surprisingly tough. I have seen glass filters with scratches though so not sure if this is absolutely true. A solar continuum filter is recommended to give that last bit of detail. -
Solar filter for C9.25 HD

The Baader film filters are the best of the front mounted solar filters. The problem with glass filters is proper optically flat glass is so expensive itโs not used in any of the glass filters. Funnily enough the glass filters scratch easily so not as long lasting as you might think. -

The place I got it from is now out of stoc,k but this is the same fan. Cheap and cheerful so if it doesnโt work no great loss. ๐ https://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/BitFenix-Spectre-200mm-Fan-All-White_30354.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvPndlYjA9AIVh-vtCh3TsgXUEAQYASABEgIjHfD_BwE

Few bits & pieces. Cooling fan, self adhesive felt for relining tube rings and a Svbony helical focuser.
