Deleting attachments is a pain. You have to go to a post and delete the attachment while editing that particular post.

You just need to use a barlow or telextender. Loads to choose from depending on your budget. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/barlows.html -
First Telescope!
johninderby replied to pancakesmaplesyrup's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Itβs a very common scope sold by most Skywatcher dealers. Being an achromat best suited for low power use. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/evostar/skywatcher-evostar-120-with-eq3-2-eq3-pro-eq5-eq5-pro-heq5-mounts.html. This thread dicuses the 120. This thread will give you an idea of what adspters needed to connect a DSLR. -

Moonlite focuser are that worth the price!?

Fav focuser of all time was a FeatherTouch 3β R&P on a WO FLT98. Perfection in focusing but now just a silly price. π₯ -

Moonlite focuser are that worth the price!?

The Baader Diamond Steeltrack is very, very good and has a much higher max load than the Moonlite as well as being more durable. The drawtube of the Mmonlite has just a plain anodised bottom surface whereas the Baader has a diamond coated one that will last for many years. Iβve had both but find the Baader is simply a better buy. The Moonlite looks nice but you are paying a lot more for the looks. -

The Feather Touch R&P would be great but the price with the SCT adapter is a bit scary. πππ http://starlightinstruments.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_99&product_id=61 -
90mak or 90 refractor
johninderby replied to MrGuGuZai's topic in Getting Started General Help and Advice
I know that asking you what ypu want to look at is a bit difficult to answer. A question that is better answered after you have done some observing and found out what you like best. You will soon notice that most on SGL have more than one scope as no one scope does it all. Donβt worry about it and if you want to get another scope later on that just means you are normal. πππ Scope quality does vary a lot more or less based on price. I love my StellaMira 80mm f/10 but that is out of your budget right now. A moon pic taken with it. -

Yes you need to sit down with the Baader drawings and see if it all adds up. One reason I went with the Classical Cassegrain instead on an SCT is having a proper focuser instead of a moving primary. The Edge HD is a very nice scope though. ππ» -

I have owned Baader Sterltrack for a newt, SCT and a refractor and also use one on my Classical Cassegrain but that is a refractor focuser with a lot longer travel than an SCT focuser and a fixed primary mirror. Check the max load ratings of the Baader and Moonlite and you will be surprised at the difference. -

Worth looking on the Baader site for tech info. https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/downloads/dl/file/id/175/product/2856/instruction_manual_for_all_baader_diamond_steeltrack_bds.pdf https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/downloads/dl/file/id/29/product/2856/bds_sc_dimensions_technical_drawing.pdf -

FeatherTouch would be first choice but serious money now. Moonlite and Baader are budget focusers in comparison. πππ -

The Baader Steeltrack is a good option. in the same class as the Moonlite but will handle more weight and is more durable. One of these days Moonlite will do something about using only an anodised surface of the drawtube instead of something like Baaderβs diamond coated surface that simply doesnβt wear. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/baader-diamond-steeltrack-focusers/baader-steeltrack-diamond-sc-for-sct-telescopes.html
