  1. Brilliant images, the closeups are my favourites.
  2. No guidescope required, I use a driven SkyWatcher EQ8 equatorial mount that's polar aligned and this keeps the target fairly accurately centred, if I need to make any small manual adjustments I use the SynScan hand controller
  3. Hi George, The Firecapture software I use to record the individual vids has a reticle option which helps me keep the image roughly centred. Post capture the final individual images are then all aligned using the software ImPPG.
  4. Many thanks, that's a brilliant tip and certainly saves loads of time
  5. Thanks, I'll have a look
  6. Sorry but it's not me 🥴, I suspect that the physics of the solar chromosphere is all a bit hazy and difficult to grasp
  7. Yes, just PS elements.
  8. Hi Geoff, I captured a 10 second avi (circ 500 frames) every 30 seconds for around 45 mins (for this I used the Autorun feature in FireCapture). Stacked the avis to create 93 individual images, sharpened and added some colour. Then recombined the images into a GIF using PIPP. All very tedious, there's gotta be a better way
  9. Finally got some nice clear skies yesterday and took the opportunity to do a prom time lapse, it covers about 45mins in real time. I was half hoping that it might have lifted off but no such luck ☹️

    AR2772

I managed a brief late afternoon session yesterday and caught the new AR 2772. It looks like a feisty spot with some extremely bright patches that could have been small flares.

Me too, you need patience (which I haven't got) and decent spell of clear weather with good seeing (which I didn't have). 😁

Hi Sean, Yes it's a Quark and a 130mm refractor (with external ERF)

Hi Geoff, I captured a 10 second avi (circ 1000 frames) once every 30 seconds for around half an hour, used the Autorun feature in FireCapture. Stacked the avis to create forty individual images, sharpened and added some colour. Then recombined the images into a GIF using PIPP. All very tedious, there's probably a much better way of doing it 🤔
  14. I captured the data a couple of days ago, poor quality and got just 30 mins worth before the high clouds rolled in. A rather short and decidedly iffy time lapse 🥴
  15. I thought it was going to be wall to wall sunshine today but the pesky clouds kept getting in the way, but here's a couple of images from today, AR 2770 and a rather nice prom.
  16. Thanks Charl, I'm sure it will happen 👍
  17. Managed to get these images today, two ARs and a rather impressive prom. The seeing was wobbly and all over the place which seems to be the norm 😡. One day it's gonna be good 😁
  18. How about this one 🥴 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TELESCOPE-DISTRESSED-GOLD-FABULOUS-HOME-DECOR-DISPLAY-OR-USE/164306724368?hash=item264171a610:g:pwUAAOSwgs1fHKHi
  19. You could try sharpening it with Registax wavelets, might help 😄
  20. Probably my last go at imaging Neowise, it's seems to be fading now and definitely not as bright as it was last week. Used an old ziess 125mm F3.5 lens with a Canon 60D, 10x 15s at iso 800.
